Life changing decision- why did i choose Government Villupuram Medical College

The curriculum and competency does make me realise how fragile & at the same time how strong humans are ; which pushed me to do the course The classes and exams are put based on the competencies set uo which are not at all difficult to follow up and rather makes it easy for us to break up the topics and study effectively

The fee structure for an year excluding the hostel fees would roughly range around 30,000 INR which includes the tuition fees , book fees and exam fees The hostel and mess fees varies for boys and girls as in boys it would be around ?6k/month and for girls around ?5k/month In case of reservation like SC/ST ; the colleges fees have concessions and reductions done In tamilnadu state 7.5% quota reservation also - the fees reductions and concessions are available The joining fees alone for the hostel is 30k in which. 15k is refundable ( refunded when u leave the hostel) The fees i paid for as college fees for year 2022 -35k 2023 - 28k Mess fees for the year 2022 - around 28k 2023 - around 32k 2024 - around 45k The tamil nadu state quota students can avail different government given scholarships from the college

Our college mainly has three major events Spartanz - the inter college sports event Prayag - the intra college cultural event Elixir- the inter college academic event Alongside we also have few small events like kalam - the intra college sports event , the tamil mandram , college day , ethnic day etc All these events are conducted in our annually without fail by the council batch For acadmeic purposes even library fully equipped for personal and book borrowing studies are available and is functional very efficiently

Hostel facilities are great ; till 4th year , the rooms are shared by either 3 or 4 students per room depending on the total strength and by the time of internship; a separate single room will be alloted to each and everyone The mess menu is of great quality and taste which provides breakfast lunch evening snacks and dinner along with refreshments like beverages during exam time ; extra care will be taken care For grievances to be attended the hostel do have a housekeeper 24/7 Teh admission procedure is very simple & can be completed along with the college admission procedure

I had applied to all the government medical colleges present all over india and then chose this college because of the academic importance this college gives to the students I did face rejection from other colleges due to slightly less marks from the cut off but most of the colleges were in my reach but still i chose this college The admission process is very simple ; the selection to the college is based on the NEET MARKS and admission is based on the seat matrix u give for the allotment order ; with the allotment order u can get the admission secured in the college U can even opt for upgradation in ur first and second allotment or admission rounds

As the strength of a batch in our college is 100 students ; the faculty to student ratio will always be allost around 1:15 All the departments have very good approachable faculties and thus i specifically dont find any faculty disappointing and unliking kind of. The academic schedule are properly built with Interal assessments conducted every month for each subject In total of 8-9 Internal assessment per subject will be conducted during our course duration with appropriate time given to prepare for each exam and if failed to pass the exam ; re tests will be conducted at the end of the year

Girls in hostel usually have an intime around 8pm due to safety reasons and boys usually doesnt have one The college as such has its own small cafeteria and co operative store where we could chill and also has many small cafes in and around the radius of the campus to chill around The college is also just 60mins away from Pondicherry which does serve as a right spot for spending the nights life of the youth Gyms are present in both inside and outside the college hostel
