- Infrastructure- top class, amazing buildings and hostels, no structural issue, good drainage systems and also beautiful university block
- Location- surrounded by 3 lakes, greenery and also less pollution
- Crowd- a lot of local people so you’ll experience a language barrier and gap, but you will definitely find people from all over India
Dislikes
- Commuting options- kinda hard figuring out uf you’re new, extremely high charges of autos, they dont agree on the price uber/ola shows
- mess food- very bland and boring, the food will neither fulfil the stomach nor the hunger
Course Curriculum Overview
More practical based course, focuses on experience rather than cramming information. the curriculum prepares you perfectly to challenge real world problems. the only improvement can be expected in faculty behaviour. exams are held every two weeks, which is frequent but prepares you well.
Internships Opportunities
Internship options available from 4th year, mostly being unpaid but some do offer a stipend starting from 5000/-. The internships are interesting and related to your course and helps tou indentify real world problems and how to deal with the problems.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible from the 3rd year for internships and for jobs you have to be in your final year. A lot of internations companies like AT&T, Verizon, Mircosoft, Google etc. and around 1500 offers made. highest package is 1.85crores 100% placement record my plan after my bachelors is to go for masters
Fees and Financial Aid
for the first year, you have to pay the complete first year fee, which was 2.85L for my course which is a little tough for a lot of families, and same goes for hostel. Scholarships are available on merit basis and needs
Campus Life
More than 20 Annual Events take place every year which are spread throughout the year. Very amazing and interesting, engaging students in variety of experiences. Huge Library with access to over 8,00,000 books Up to date technological equipments and lab materials. International grade sport fields and equipments. More than 50 student run groups and clubs with Aaruush being the biggest which has a huge impact on the social and moral views of a student.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilites are amazing including gysers, cold water, Air conditioners, attached washrooms, lifts etc. The wardens are nice and the problems faced are addressed quickly if reported. The Mess has ok quality food. The hostels are a bit pricey but you will not regret paying for hostels as the locality is not safe so hostels inaide the campus is a better option
Admission
I got confirmed admissions in UPES, LPU and VIT but still chose srm based on the perfectly designed brochure which is very appealing. I did not get rejections but just chose SRM over other colleges. admission process is easy, simply pay the fee and put in the details before the provided deadline.
Faculty
the faculty to student ratio is around 1:80, that means one professor for 80 students. The best faculties are for Electrical and Electronics Engg. as they are very calm. Physics faculty is very rude and don't seem to be interested in the subject. 4 exams per semester, which go from easy to very hard. the coruse curriculum is very relevant.
