What Students Say?
Likes
- The experience is very raw and you get to experience a lot.
- The fests are fun and you can participate in the process of them easily.
Dislikes
- Academic pressure is not high, but the system is very old and boring.
- There are limited electives in college and a lot of compulsory courses.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is pretty irrelevant to be honest. You would have to study a lot of the new stuff yourself and prep for placement opportunities. There should be improvement in the material and the way electives are provided currently.
Internships Opportunities
Uber , Microsoft, Google , Amazon , Brane , Adobe , sprinkler, atlassian. There were a lot of firms which came in. But all were only for ee and CS. Core branches got only a few of them. I was placed in a finance intern. I was paid 45k pm.
Placement Experience
The placements are pretty decent as long as you are aware of them happening and preparing well. They are particularly good for electrical and CS. For core branches, the placements are not good. You will struggle to find pay above 15.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
Tution Fee : 100000 Hostel : 1000 Admin & Etc : 10000 Mess Fee : 20000 Apart from this the tution fee is 0 for SC/ST/Pwd. The fee is not increasing, it is constant. The complete course fee is around 900000 for a general candidate.
Campus Life
There are multiple fests. The largest one is Anvesha. There are other technical and non technical fests as well. Samnivesha is a tech fest only for civil engineering. Infinito is the sports fest and celesta is the tech fest.
Hostel Facilities
Till 3rd year it is a double sharing room which is too small for 2 people tbh There are 2 boys hostel , 1 girls hostel and 1 coed hostel 1st year in Aryabhatta, 2nd years in CV Raman , 3rd and 4th years in kalam , girls in CV Raman as well as Asima hostel The mess is good some days and bad some days . But the hostel service is very cheap , only 1000 rupees a semester.
Admission
I gave JEE and this is what I needed up with. I could have gotten into an NIT as well but I wanted to study a core subject and it made more sense to go to an IIT. I would say go to IIT Patna if you aren't expecting the best placements for the money invested.
Faculty
There are a few facilities who are very approachable but most of them aren't. Although it is different for different departments. Ratio is around 15:1 in the whole college. Though it is very different for different departments. There are 4 set of exams. Quiz 1 , Mid sem , quiz 2 , endsem. The exams are pretty simple .
