Likes
- Availability of transportation and services around the college.
- The medicals, clinics are near the college also there's police station.
- The cooperative faculty and humble teachers plus the campus life is amazing and fascinating.
Dislikes
- The small campus of the college yet there's another space for the students to hangout.
- The cafeteria service is ridiculous, there's not much availability in the menu yet you can find many restaurants around the college.
- Since the college is near to the railway station the surrounding area is chaotic and sometimes the voices are too loud to keep focuses.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum of the course that I chose was pretty clear to understand and adapt since the notes departments provides are relevant. The curriculum takes us explore the places in real life so that we could connect and communicate with the people around which helps in gaining the confidence to apply outside the box. The timing of exam during the sem if for 2 hours which is fine for 60 mark's examination the paper are set by the HODs of the departments of courses that you pursue the difficulty level is average from my perspective.
Internships Opportunities
The opportunities in the college are mostly related to the departments and courses that students pursue. The IIT Bombay gave any chances to the students to attend the sessions for the internships but those are not paid internships so students doesn't show much interests in those. But those who opted the opportunities got jobs in the cooperation companies and etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure of the college is quite simple. We are supposed to pay the fees as per the year of the degree year. You can pay the fees in 2 installments as well. The fees includes all the services and availability of the college there's not much charges yet you are supposed to pay for the trips etc. The fees for BA in under 10k but if you are pursuing BA in psychology it's charges are high. There is financial aisa available for the students which are called as "the student service" in this process the student can pay or work in the college as volunteer or can pay in installments. For scholarships the percentage should be more than average.
Campus Life
The fests starts from November to February month. Kshitij, Historia, the psychology event are some events and fests that take place and the most famous is the prom party festival. The library is full of books that you need for the information from journals to thesis everything is available they also provides a library card to the students. The classroom are full of facilities that a student needs we have screens and personal shelves and AC available in the classroom. There are extracurricular activities like NSS and social club for the students they can join them for the credits and much more there's sport's club of each games and the competition takes place as well inside and outside the campus itself. The students from different departments runs their department's social media handles where they post about the incoming events and updates related to their courses and department s. There are social club music club volunteer club in the college.
Admission
I applied for the Xavier's and KJ somaiya in Mumbai and got a confirmation from KJ but wasn't able to travel also I chose this college because of the availability of transportation around it which makes it easy to travel back and forth even if the location you stay is far from the college. I got rejected from the Xavier's since I didn't scored much as per expectation of the college they were expecting a high score. The admission process of my college was not hectic at all you are just supposed to be honest and average there was no entrance interviews or exams. The overall experience was pretty clear I didn't asked my parents or siblings to help (so it was this easy :)
Faculty
The faculty is approachable and eager to help in anyways the relationship between the students and faculty are great, the professors are actually humble and sweet. I like all the faculties to be honest since they are always available for the students. The lost and found is the worst keep in mind that you don't loose anything on the campus or classroom I lost my original pods in the campus and they were not helping me out. The exam structure is simple the semester starts during the end of September and ends by October. Since the college is autonomous the sem is for 60 marks and the rest 40 depends upon the assignments and attendance and field visits. Those who fails to clear the exams are supposed to pay to clear them . The curriculum is easy to understand the college is autonomous body so they set their own curriculum structure and even if you face any difficulties the HODs are available. They also provides personalised notes.
