Views of a fresher in SRM

Since I have specialization course, the last 2 years of the 4 year btech programme is focused on data analysis and coding which is quite helpful. Obviously 1st year, we have subjects that don't have much importance to computer science but is informational like computational biology and constitution of India. Teachers could use mic compulsorily as if you sit at the back you'll barely hear them and about course curriculum I feel like it's upto date but I'm only in 1st semester now so I guess we'll have to see it in the future.

I haven't gotten a internship yet, but from what I've heard the stipend can range from 15,000-1lakh per month and by various companies like TCS, Infosys, Microsoft etc. I feel like the students learn a lot during this internships and are able to get hands on with various project experiences

The 7th semester students are eligible for job placements and 4th semester students are eligible for internship in various companies. A number of companies visit this university, like cognizant, Adobe, Amazon,TCS etc. the average package is 7.8lpa and highest differs between on campus and off campus. I'm not sure about the exact percentage but atleast 85% of the students get placed. I plan on doing a min 2 year job before continuing with my masters

The year wish fees is 4.3lakhs for btech in cse-data science, for per semester it being 2.1 lakh if you're a student of general category without any scholarships.The registration fees is 10,000 which won't be returned if you're going to withdraw from the University. There are multiple scholarships and financial aid if you're a student from SC,ST or have any financial issues. If you score good in srmjeee exam then that also helps in availing scholarships.

The annual fest is AARUSH and Milan and it's a continual fest as there are various events conducted for students throughout the year and are typically held during oct-dec. They have a 3 floor library with a large variety of physical books as well as e books available.Most specialisation classrooms have AC but core students don't have a central unit. The extracurricular activities offered are vast and every student gets a chance to showcase their talents. There are multiple clubs and groups in this university which work with various domains like technical and management and help add an extra activity to the students linkedin profile and overall resume

I wrote the KCET exam but the results are taking quite a long time and SRM was my back up so I joined here just in case. SRM accepts srmjeee as well as jee as well as if you're a central/State board topper . These exams have a very low cutoff because I heard students with 10000rank also got cse core

There are exams like CT-1,2,3,4 AND END SEM exam, all of them are mostly easy if you study enough and are able to grasp the concepts. The course curriculum is relevant but for eg. I had computational biology in 1st sem which is not quite useful for me so it's a negative mark. The faculties are helpful but many students are afraid to approach them as either they're too tired to go after 5pm or are just shy. Most faculties of you talk to them they'll get to know you better and help you when you need it. For eg, i was very sick while attending classes and had to take a half-day but my FA gave me attendance for her class since I was sick and had informed her before leaving . Most faculties have a thick accent but that's not a big of an issue for me
