Campus Life

Structure of the college is very nice. I study in college of agriculture. One of the colleges of the university. It is a three story building on vast a area. It also has field grounds where we conduct our practicals. The college has specific departments on every floor where the scientific experiments are done. for farm practicals, we have agronomic field, horticulture field, and so on

Hostel Facilities

3

by far. This is the most clean and spacious Hostel. I have been living in. There are different hostels for UG and PG. There are four or five hostels for girls. It accommodates around 500 students in every building. The bathrooms are clean. the floors are cleaned every day, although your responsible for your own room, even if the lights go out due to thunder thunder, you have to buy the lights. The Hostel is not responsible. The Hostel do not have AC but have a unique environment.

Admission

OUAT entrance exam is conducted by OUAT itself, The exam includes physics, chemistry, biology, and maths question, but you can choose either biology or maths. The university have four colleges that I know of and they are college of veterinary science, College of agriculture, College of agriculture, technology, technology and community science college. You can choose your preferred college according to your entrance exam marks.

Faculty

4

The faculty members have a great experience of teaching kids for a long period of time. All the classrooms have smart boards. The teachers use those smart boards. Lab activities are also done accordingly, as agriculture is a practical education. The practicals periods are every day, and the theories are also in the day accordingly. The curriculum is vast but the efficient teachers teach every point and try to cover the course.

B.Sc.(Hons.) Agriculture is one of the important and relevant subjects out of all. If we say about Indian context then most of the people are dependent on agriculture. So in India it's relevance is very high. This curriculum consists all type of subjects like agronomy, soil science, economics, marketing, pathology, genetics and breeding, horticulture etc. this course is more based on practical than the theory. In our curriculum the mid sem occurs in the middle of the semester which is approx march in winter semester and in September- october in monsoon semester and the end semester exam held in end of the semester which is in December in monsoon semester and may in winter semester.

I generally loved how they showed they give 100% placements. But there is not any. The teaching methods however is very good as they give us mainly practical knowledge and skill based education. Which really helps.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As India is a agricultural country most people depends on agriculture so I choose this course that I think it might have more scope. Through this course, we covered both theory and practice; we planted crops, prepared the field, applied manure to the soil, and irrigated the field. The difficulty is not too hard, and there are about 4 exams in a year, which is very good. In this course we must visit the village and interact with village people know their problems and try to find solutions. In our college we are less interactive with village farmers.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Agriculture course is highly vast and informative. This course actually provides economic knowledge about the food we consume in our daily life and also provides the information about how they are grown and taken care of by our hardworking farmers. And talking about the difficulty level it's actually easy and we just have to get involved in this course as much as we can. Improvement this course requires is to give proper guidance to our farmers and also to provide them with proper wages they deserve.
