Likes
- The things a like about is the extensive library provided for the students. The library contains more the 10 thousand variety of books and it is available for free for all the students without needing to pay any seperate fee for library.
- There is a lot of emphasis given to sports section
- The foreign students treatment is very good. They provide seperate mess hall for them
Dislikes
- The use of Tamil language is too common even among teachers and also while teaching.
- Even though it is an English medium college the use of Tamil is not taken any action
- Though the message fee is cheap the quality of food is poor
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose economics for its complexity and my desire to understand the market structure as well as to know the various forces of global and national GDP growth and decline. It very well fulfilled my desire. The course they teach is well applicable to real world through various jobs and activities like accounting, financial analyst and price differentiation of commodities. None improvement is of applicable apparently. The exam level should be raised a little more than how they conduct
Fees and Financial Aid
I paid 10000 per year for my UG economics course. The tution fee was free for me since I was in the sports quota. The 10000 was for my hostel fee. As for the message fee it was relatively cheap. They charged 1500 per month. Other than this there were small fees such as language fee for my Hindi subject and little money collection for our industrial visit and such activities. The fees for my other normal batch mates were around 20k only fornthe tution fee. There were no distinct difference in fee structure for the sc and st. There are many financial aid available for the orphaned and disabled students and also for sports students to study for free but we need merit in order to apply for sports quota. There are alot of scholarship for sc and st.
Campus Life
The college day is the biggest day held in our college which is held during February or March. Other festivals includes cultural day and Pongal festival which is very popular in Tamil nadu. There are a lot of journals from the college scholar and faculties available in the library. The facilities are extremely high ended and I hope it continues to be so. The sports section is very good and a lot of importance is given. There is a lot of group and movements like aicuf, eco, and red ribbon etc.
Admission
I chose this college over others because it offers comprehensive and valid education over a little subtracta of money. And also due to its involvement in sports. I didn't apply to other colleges as I have been targeting this college since my 12th and luckily I got here before applying anywhere. The admission is simple. Since I was from sports quota and I had a good merit they took me in without any tests but for the normal students they had to give tests inorder to get admission.
Faculty
The faculties are very friendly with students. They are very well qualified to teach the students. The teacher are very good with regard to teaching without any partiality. The exams are fairly easy. But most of the students in my class has alot of back paper. The course curriculum is updated upto the utmost and is of high quality.
