Likes

Faculty is nice and supportive and encouraging
College is pretty active in extra curricular activities
Certificate courses, seminars, moot court competitions, parliamentary debates, judgement analysis and research competitions are regularly conducted.

Dislikes

Staff keeps shifting work from one desk to another.
No fixed year wise schedule is given to students.
College timings are very early. First lecture starts at 7 30

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum is upto mark and according to BCI rules. But i feel like it would be much more easier if instead of unloading all the burden on the students in the penultimate and past year, they divided the law subjects in 1st and 2nd year as well which included onky ba subjects. As the courses, it gets tougher and tougher.

Class Size: 120Course Fees: INR 30000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Year wise is 30000. It has been reduced. Earlier it was 56000 for OMS and 30000 for MS in second year. From third year onwards it is the same for both. People from Maharashtra can avail scholarship too according to their family income (in certificate).

Campus Life

DES shares its campus with Fergusson College, so it is very beautiful and vintage-y since Fergusson's building was built in 1881. Annual cultural fests is called INDRADHANUSH. It is very fun. Apart from this DUM is conducted which is a sports event which is equally fun if not more. Moot court events are also helf like Themisia etc which is about drafting competition, moot courts and judgement analysis. There is no shortcoming in the cultural activities dept. Active societies include drama society and moot court society.

Admission

I wrote CLAT but wasn't able to clear it. I also gave MHCET. To get into this college one is required to give this exam and clear the cut off for their respective criteria. DES is 3rd in the list after GLC and ILS. Oms cut offs go way higher than MS. Transfer between colleged available in mhcet list is also possible from 2nd year based on merit.

Faculty

Faculty to student ratio is apt. Teacher are approachable and also very encouraging. Some of them teach from practical point of view as well which is very imp in a professional course. Some teachers however barely read textbook and some don't even bother to come regularly.

In our college placements start from fourth year and because top quality PPOs are provided due to intenrship we get placed easily. Also, we have various things to do at our campus when it comes to placements. Our CV has to be with atleast 8 internships done by the end of 4th year only then do we stand eligible for the same.

Placement Experience:

Khaitan is the top one as they are in 6 cities of India now and they are increasing the workforce every year. It's SLS Pune which is adding to their maximum work force. Average salary offered is 60-90k a year and for a lawyer initially having that kind of salary is a dream.

MNLU MUMBAI, IS IT WORTH THE HYPE?

Placement Experience:

The placements are quite good there are 6 to 7 students who have got PPOs in their 4th year itself. All the famous law firms come to our college, the advantage we have over the other colleges is our location, as our college is based in a prime area of Mumbai, so all the famous law firms' offices are quite nearby. Maybe around 80 percent of students get placed by the end of 5th year, and our placement cell is also very efficient and works very hard for the students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because it was my greatest wish and ambition to be a lawyer from childhood. Symbiosis law school has one of the best teaching faculty. Teachers are well qualified and trained. There are enough Teachers in the college compared with the students all the teachers are very cooperative and clears everyone's doubts. A good standard exams are conducted frequently to test the improvement of all the students.

Why you must opt for DES Navalmal Firodia law college!

To apply to any one of the colleges for an LL.B/BA.LL.B one has to give the MH CET, which is the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test. It is a four-subject MCQ test. It is one of the best colleges in Pune and does not disappoint. The MH CET cell conducted the admission rounds, and ours had a little management quota. In the first two rounds, you are asked to go to certain colleges and apply for betterment if you are not satisfied with the option allowed. The third round is the risky round where you apply to the maximum number of institutions to maximize your chance of admission. There shall be merit lists of all colleges on a separate basis, you identify your chances and apply as you like. I got some of the last few seats left at the college after finalising admission at another college, which led to the cancellation of admission at the other mentioned college.
