Remarks

The college could be little more aggressive in its educational and student promotion approach

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course is under the umbrella of Pune University again a very historical university with great minds hailing their education. Being under such prestigious education institution the curriculum and exam structure was part of university settled structure. However, our college took extra efforts to get practising litigators on board as teachers to teach us something extra that was part of every day legal practise and different from academics. We also had visiting experts from all different fields of academicia to teach us nuances of legal world from time to time. There were lot of other activities like moot courts, article writing, debates, competitions to help students with other extra curriculum.

Placement Experience

4

Placement centre helped us landing internships with prestigious law firms and also groomed the interested students into landing job offers from the firms.

College Events

4.5

We had educational fair called as symposium with activities like sports, story writing, extempore, debates, moots, rangoli, art competition, mehendi competition, etc. And college wise fair of different courses where everyone could participate. There was a inter-College festival and intra college festival also.

Fee Structure And Facilities

We had 20,000 per semester where other competitive college charged approx anything between 50,000 to lakhs per semester. The hostel facility for boys and girls were provided separate living facilities and boys separate. The road leading to the girls hostel would be laden with fallen flowers every morning and you could enjoy your little own flower walk down the aisle. Nestled between fergusson hills and beautiful garden, the hostel building imposed of english architecture and a place to remember living at.

Fees and Financial Aid

The scholarship was on merit basis. The education loan was very easy as the institution provided for opporutnity of loan with the related banks.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life is very nostalgic from the flower walk, being close to the nature to having exposure to all kinds of activities from sports, music, art literature, campus offered all possibilities. It was on the student to explore all kinds of avenues which were in front of them.

Hostel Facilities

4

Yes, They had two dormitories, double room, single seater rooms also. The course and academic year wise the room were allotted in the girls hostel. The entrance to girls hostel was done on the academic percentage basis.

Alumni/Alumna

We have alumini-meet set up of the society which meets once annually and if required sometimes again. It discuss on varying issues. The college calls the old students by giving them exposure to help the current batches and older ones are called for judging the moots, debates and other activities to help them grow and also nurture the new ones.

Admission

My Alumunus is one of nestled in one of the oldest campus of the Fergusson College of the country and it comes from history of its own. In Pune, there were educational society formed by our forefathers and revered constitutional and independence leaders which comes from a legacy of its own. I wanted to study in a prestigious institution and there is so much legacy and history and charm to this place. I just felt the right place.

Faculty

4.5

We had five lectures per day beginning from 7.30 AM in the morning and our lectures would finish by 10.30 AM that would allow us to attend the other internships or courses during the day if the need arises. All the lectures were PH.D holders or Masters educated and also practising in the relevant field that they were teaching which enabled us to get into the practical aspects o the course taught, We had court visits also which provided the much needed practical exposure.

The curriculum is extremely outdated. While NLU students are learning about law in thier first year itself, we have to wait till 3rd year for the same thing. A lot of students end up learning more at internships rather than at college

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course 8/10 aa course is highly good for me and i chose this field because of the respect it have our curriculum is good only as first 2 years we have BLS subjects then we have law subjects after that. As it is an integrated course it surely serves the purpose and makes you ready for real-life field only but as we have 75-25 pattern it gets hard to write that much in the examination in that much hour also we have to prepare for internals alot then assignment costs alot of time and make the whole study schedule hectic

Placement Experience:

From 4th Year of the college the student is eligible for a pre-placement offer, main placements happen in the Final year i,e. 5th year. Companies that hire majorly are Tier-1 and Tier-2 law firms, like AZB, Khaitan&Co. Average package goes to about 15-16LPA. My plan is not fixed yet, but I aim to pursue SEBI or RBI law officer exam.
