Dislikes
- The strictness of the univeristy sometimes makes student not to open up.
- The encave cafeteria inside the campus of MIT-WPU servers order late despite less crowd and the menu prices are quite high for the food they offer.
- There are less drainage system in the underground parking and less visibility.
Course Curriculum Overview
I would like to rate it 7/10 because B.tech and BCA are almost same but B.tech is in-depth, flexible and more detailed than BCA course. I choose this course because I belong to General Category and my percentile was not good enough to make it to trending and high demand courses. The BCA curriculum is quite plane and simple which can prepare students for decent job in a decent IT company. The areas where improved is needed for BCA curriculum is that it needs to get updated every 2 to 3 years as the tech world changes at rapid speed, there should be new topics added and old topics to be taught deeper. New topics that should be added in BCA course is AI, ML, Data Science, Wev developer etc. The teaching method should be more flexibile and in depth for BCA course with a little fast pace. The frequency and time of exam are quite good in my perspective but the time needs to be increase as we get little time for solving questions.
Placement Experience
MIT-WPU does offer campus placement at the placement season of 3rd year and 4th year if opted for BCA honors. The companies like Nvidia, Accenture, Cummins and Microsoft comes to campus to take interview of students and offer them intership placements. The rate of students getting intership and job are just okay as most of them make it to a simple companies or start ups and only high skilled and CGPA people gets into these big tech companies. The highest package offered for BCA course was 35LPA so far, and 7 LPA - 10 LPA as average package for this course. The percentage of students getting placement is approximate 78% to 94% so far (the percentage may vary). My plan is after getting a degree is to land my job in big tech companies as the time of now I focus on lecutres, building skills, and solving DSA problems. I don't have any plan to pursure Master's so far.
Fees and Financial Aid
the total tuition fee for the 3-year BCA course at MIT WPU is ?1,70,000 (Yearly) or ?510,000 for the entire duration of the course. The total is ?5,10,000, If opted for BCA Honors course then the total fees would be ?6,80,000. The registration fees for exam and admission form register fluctuates between ?1,800 to ?2000. The fees for everyone is same unless you're from weaker ecomony category where you'll have to pay 48% less. MIT-WPU also offers scholarships based on your JEE Mains, MHT - CET and MIT-CET examination score.
Campus Life
The overall campus life is really great as there are a lot of clubs like tech clubs, sports clubs, personal development clubs, networking clubs. The sports offered, the large number of events hosted in a year, the canteen food etc. The books in library are mostly about enginnering, business and designing. There are very less and rare fantasy books for fantasy and comic book lovers. The clubs are run by students, and the club is official affiliated with companies like google and microsoft. The computer works great and the enviorment is clean and soothing so far.
Admission
I applied to BITS for B.tech CSE but as general category the cut off was too high and therefore I was not eligible for BITS. I chose this collage for BCA as they have high reputation, affordable fees, amazon, google and other officially affiliated clubs and the companies that come to campus for campus placements like accenture, nvidia and microsoft. The admission process for MIT-WPU was their private exam MIT-CET where 2 rounds are conducted, 1st includes computer exam PCM, English and Logical reasoning and 2nd round is where they take interview asking you questions similar to job interviews. The eligibility criteria for exam was 45% in PCM and passing for private exam, 78% for BCA in MHT-CET BCA/BBA/BMS exam and others like JEE mains and CUET. I got accepted for BCA at MIT-WPU after my MIT-CET score card, the overall admission was good but a little hassel because the website was not good. The overall experience of the journey was good.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is almost perfect, the relationship between students and faculty is pretty good too. Faculty are always approachable and take surveys to provide best for students. The sports faculty is what I like so far because they give us variety of option and can play any game any time. There are 3 exams every year (excluding weekly test). The marking scheme for BCA term exam is 30 Marks per subject. The course curriculum is quite relevant to other universities's BCA courses.
