IIT Hyderabad through my eyes

The courses here are quite comprehensive. Students gain a lot of exposure through this practical approach. Professors provide assignments and use presentations for teaching.

The internship drive happens in 5th semester and yeah, a lot of big comapanies visit for wide range of roles.I recently got summer internship offer from American Express with a stipend of 1.5 lakh for Data Science/ ML role.

The campus placements are excellent, with the number of companies visiting increasing each year. For quant roles, we have top firms like Goldman Sachs, Optiver, and Quadeye, while for software, the opportunities are vast, with companies like Apple, Google, and Amazon regularly visiting. For AI roles, companies such as Amex, KLA, and Thomson recruit annually, offering pre-placement offers (PPO) in the range of 50-60 LPA. The eligibility criteria generally require no active backlogs.The average package for top branches is around 30 LPA.

Year-wise fee for general category students is 3 lakhs on average each year. This includes the tuition fee of 1 lakh,registration fee of 20,000/-. Theres an exclusion of tuition fee for SC/ST/PH students. Institute Scholarships are available such as MCM(Merit-Cum-Means) and SC/ST scholarship whose parental annual income is lesser than 4.5 lakh.

Life on campus is quite enjoyable. The campus itself is vast, with a large library that offers all the necessary resources and books. There's a new sports complex that caters to a wide range of activities, including cricket, football, badminton, tennis, table tennis, squash, hockey, swimming, volleyball, and more

Opting for a hostel is mandatory. The mess food is good, and the rooms are well-maintained. The college provides hostels, with single rooms available from the second year onward. In the first year, you may or may not get a single room. The food in the mess is quite affordable, especially if you opt for extras.

I personally wanted to join IIT hyderabad due to some factors. The best part was I unexpectedly got into a branch like MnC which is one of the top 3 braches with AIR 2592. The college has all world class facilities with peaceful environment in campus.

In first year, the course curriculum for MnC is common with other all streams. There's not a lot of academic pressure, and you'll have plenty of time to enjoy your time in college. Most of the exams are of a moderate difficulty. You'll enjoy this faculty.
