Likes

teachings : The teaching system is very good in this college
Location: it is located far from city / town for that reason its very peaceful
they conduct a lot of orientation by bringing the specialist from the other places

Dislikes

for the classes we have to go from one class to another after every one subject
wifi it is installed but they never recharge and its useless
comodities which are available in the College Canteens are expensive

Course Curriculum Overview

As a history student , the things and the way how we are taught everyday is going to be very helpful for us in future . the teacher's engangement with the students are good . and as the NEP2020 was introduced we are the first batch of this new eduction system . we are getting many side studies as well

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college fees we have to pay in a year twice (installment wise ) the first payment we have to pay the higher price and after six months the another remaining amount we have to pay .. Scolarship : scolarship we apply for NSP (National portal Scolarship) this carry different state with different amount of money . Union Christian College does not force you to pay the dues on the exact time , the authorities understands the students problems and extend the date for payment of fees , if appliation is given

Campus Life

The college does not fail in conducting any Social event . They does every event as a college should do . Eg like College week , College Foundation Day , freshers etc. the facilities of technical teachings; in some classrooms there are scrrens and projectors but most of the classrooms does not have the same facility There is no social group among studens , all are friendly to each other

Admission

After my board exam i gave CUET exam which was to take admission in universities but i did not wait for the result , i directly took admission in Union Christian college . as this college is highly reputed

Every sir or madam who are there in the office are very friendly . They guide in a proper and respective way to every student . The IQAC teachers are more helpful , i like the faculties because they never deny to help in any case . I dont like the vice principle of the college , she asks alot of question . But its her job and she does a great job. Exams are conducted yearly twice and despite of that practical , assignmetns are taken

ST ANTHONY’s COLLEGE SHILLONG

Likes

The college was full diverse with people coming from different states.
The faculty is quite cleaned and well organized.
College week was the best part of the college.

Dislikes

The professors were quite rude. If asked something you will be questioned as dumb.
The teaching style was not good. They would teach in their local language most of the time.
The time table was quite hectic as the classes started from 8:00 AM and ended in 4:30 PM and having only 30 mins break the whole day.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is quite vast. But it only consisted of three subjects for my batch before NEP. We only have Western music, Hindustani classical music and regional music. But courses with NEP has a lot. And not just focuses on music but extras too.

classes are always held on time with a punctual routine
teachers are strict and sincere and provide materials
food of the canteen is very delicious of it's kind

Dislikes

due to the non-availability of co-ed since it's an all girls college
canteen's food can add a variety of other delicacies
inclusivity of every gender being a all girls college

Course Curriculum Overview:

i've always had a passion for literature and it's musings so i guess english has always been close to home and my intellect. The curriculum makes me well known to the real world. There aren't any necessary improvements as per my perspective. The level of difficulty is moderate except it prepares every student to get out of one's comfort zone

Likes

My college offers an excellent learning environment with highly experienced faculty who are always approachable for guidance. The teaching methods are interactive, combining theoretical knowledge with practical applications
The infrastructure is commendable with well equipped classrooms labs and a modern library. Campus life is vibrant with a mix of cultural, technical and sports events that foster a sense of community
The placement services are affective with top companies participating in campus recruitment and providing ample job opportunities

Dislikes

One area where the college needs improvement is the hostel facilities which require better maintenance and amenities
The Internet connectivity can be inconsistent in certain areas of the campus which impact students who rely online resources
The mess food lacks variety and often does not meet quality standards

I would rate an 8 because curriculum is essential to guide teachers in what to teach, how much depth of knowledge is needed for the grade and a timeline to follow so the syllabus will be completed. Curriculum needs to focus on what you can do with information

Likes

Teacegrs and their effirts in teacheing us
The campus os very big and has kots of trees
Classrooms are very big and comfortable for students

Dislikes

The canteen is unhygenic and food not so tasty
Some teacgers are not so well in teachings
Some students are very oversmart and dosnt repect

My course is geography is tough but the teachers explain it very well but some teachers they dosnt explain nicely but still wr manage to understand they give us notes they provude notes very well but very rude and strict

Likes

I liked the campus it was huge with great views sorrounded by umiam lake its beautiful
Chappel or Church where every student attend whether you are hindu they used to attend
Some many programs are being help like skill india,computer classes for free

Dislikes

The classrooms they were kind of old it wasnt renovated
Yeah there is water issue over in shillong in rainy days the water gets dirty which no one would like to drink so we have to buy our own water ....college authorities also provide fresh water when it becomes a big issue
The instruments for field study in geography are too old some doesnt work

I choose this course because i wanted to study geography and to know about it and i had to choose this institution because in Tripura there was no good college which provide BA geography honours so i had to move to Meghalaya...it is fun to study during 5-6th semester where we have to do field study with different instruments the are so amazing and in 6th semester they take us to trekking but unfortunate we were not taken because of exams ....the Nehu exams are so hard

Is UCC good?

I first applied to MIT shillong where I got acceptance but the fee was high so I had to lower it. I also applied for st. Edmunds shillong where I actually thought of joining, unfortunately it was too late and lastly I had to choose over st Anthony and UCC. Where I choose ucc I didn't get a rejection in Edmunds but no response or reply. I could have gotten into st.Anothony and MIT but each of them didn't fit my profile. Ucc was the best option as it had very affordable fees than others There's no admission process. Acceptance over money. Although they do give u limitations to choose ur major upon ur percentage and marks. If too low you'll get rejected...Read More

My exceptional academic journey.

The reason why I chose this college is that it is the one college that provides psychology as a regular course. Other colleges in my area are self-financing colleges. In fact, I only applied to this college and I was 100% sure that I'll get admitted to the same college. Thank God. KoI tired in Anthony's and Edmund's but my mark is not up to there requirement so I choose this college. One of the best likable about this college is that they don't judge you from your previous mark instead they encourage you for the betterment of your future. I applied online for this college.
