Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose this course as i wanted to take ACCA for my career and i wanted a degree along with it. I got 6 paper exemption for the acca as i opt for an integrated program. I guess you can avail that with regular degree too. Registration was took care by isdc and we were able to write our exams after 1st sem. We had practical subjects like digital fluency, AI, employability skills etc allong with the syllabus. Extra curricular activities also had importance. Internal exams are held with a break of 1.5 month. Its easy to handle as long as you are not apearing for any prof exams as i did for acca

Internships Opportunities

2.5

Collage provide paid internship oppurtunities for financially backward students to help there studies and to give them a practical knowledge. This was started this year so i couldnt experience it. But my friend got enrolled

Placement Experience

3

Students are provided with placement drives and online assistance by placement cell from 5 th sem. They conduncted a class on how to crack an interview which was pretty much useless. If we use there placement services efficiently we will get placed.. Some of my friends got a 5 lakh yearly package. Many companies visited. Offers were made from wipfli which i attended and got rejected as i was not prepared. Big 4 s also give offer through the placement process.40% of the students get placed i guess through the college placement. I plan to complete my acca and get placed on my own

Fees and Financial Aid

I paid around 260000 for 3 yearsc 1st year it was 100000 paid in 2 installments 2nd yr 81000 3rd yr 70000 Extra 10000 included as i was from out of state and 5000 for malayalam as second language 60000 maintanace fee every year included in the fees and rest is tution fees

Campus Life

4

Events are held almost every day by different department. But its not necessary that everyone will be able to participate. Collage events such as sport day, aloysian fest, degree day, ethnic day, proffesional day etc are held in odd which is mainly in feb, march, april.the college has three libraries.they have a very calm and quite seating arrangement which is best for solo study sessions. Its a diifrent vibe im the main library its so peacefull. They have pretty much every educational books and english literature too.. Malayalam books was not included that much in the library as it was in Karnataka.they have indoor batminton court and a very large ground for sports activites and cricket practice area too.. Interested students can utilize the equipment. I was not into sports so i dont know about the oppurtunities in detail. They have a variety of clubs and associations like nss, red cross, ncc, navy, drama club, music club etc. I was in nss and it help to get more exposure to the stude

Admission

This was the first college i applied to and i was selected after the first interview. But i had yenapoya university in mind. I wanted a acca with bcom course. That was not availble in kerala then but now it does. So i decide to apply out of state and applied online as that was covid time. They review my application asked me to attend an interview and i got selected. They asked me to pay first installment of first year fees to confirm the admission that was 50000. I did so. I applied through the official site of st Aloysius deemed to be university.i didnt opt for yenapoya because the university had reputation but the campus of the commerce collage was very dull and barely had a campus. And after i started. Y degree i got to know that teaching was bad at yeanapoya too from friends who study there

Faculty

3

Faculty to student ratio is ok. Faculty and student relationship depends on individual teachers. I was from out of state so language barrier was an issue eventhough communication was in english. Faculty qualification for ACCA batch was poor. CA has a very qualified faculty system.there were two thre teachers who i loved because they were very understanding and friendly with us. But some of them were very strict and very rude sometimes. We had 6 semesters and 7-8 subjects in first 4 semester and 6 subjects for last two semesters each. 2 internal exams will be conducted in each sem and a semester examination at the end of sem. Internal are bit stressfull for first two semesters as there are 2 -3 exam a day.. But u will get used to it and after that it must be easy to handle. For semester you will get study leaves so its easy as long as you study on those leaves

The placement cell in my college is okay they do get few good companies for campus recruitment and they guide us thoroughly how and when we should apply for placement they do conduct some sessions and bring people to guide us with everything. The percentage of students getting placement is 50 or 60 percentage. My plan after degree is to continue pursuing acca and then finding a job abroad

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester. Our college has a dedicated placement department that really guides and supports us through the whole process. Big companies like Deloitte and KPMG visit the campus every year, and since I’m doing B.Com + ACCA, there are plenty of great opportunities in finance and accounting. Last year, around 8 students from the B.Com batch got placed in finance roles. The average package was about ?6 LPA. The best part is that placements keep getting better every year, and the college has maintained a 100% placement record. They’ve even tied up with foreign companies, which opens up more global opportunities for us. After completing my degree, I plan to build a strong career in finance—hopefully starting with a reputed company like Deloitte or KPMG—and later explore opportunities abroad.

Placement Experience:

The college offers placement through the COC (Career Opportunities) cell. Students become eligible for placements by the 5th Semester. The companies which come to hire include the Big 4s, (KPMG, Delloite, EY and BCG), Fedral Bank,TCS, etc. Almost 70% of students opt for higher eduaction so the less number of students get placed at the UG level at least. I am personally figuring out which path to choose but I have placement in mind at the end of the degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My specific aspect of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the course is the ACCA along with Bcom. Most importantly the 9 paper exemptions provided that gives flexibility in the context of studying. The curriculum is well corporate and real world oriented. They prepare us on how to face the real corporate world through their curriculum by conducting different seminars and workshops.
