Overall the college provides good facilities for a student to grow in all sections of life. However, the faculty should be a little more helpful and supportive to the students for their growth.
Placement Experience
Authorities have increased the strength of the college in the last few years which has surely shown it's the effect on different fronts, placement being one. DTU has an excellent alumni base which has helped DTU to retain it's placements year after year. A lot of hard work is put upon by the TnP cell of DTU which results in great placements year after year.DTU is great for internships since most of the top companies that visit IITs visit here during the campus hiring sessions.
College Events
Though it has been improving and has improved in the last 2 years. And with the inception of the tech and cultural council, it will surely improve a lot. As of now, every society organizes their own fest, and tech fest is not seen with that much enthusiasm as cultural and sports fest are seen. But it has improved a lot and surely needs a lot of improvement.
Fee Structure And Facilities
DTU is an institution under the Delhi Government, so the Fees are reasonable as compared to the other Private Colleges. If you are Lucky enough to get a hostel in DTU, It would cost an extra 40K per year(Including Mess Charges) For B.Tech admissions 2017–18 Total Fee to be paid for 1st Year- Rs. 1,38,000/- Per Annum Fees to be paid at the time of Admission- Rs. 75,000/- Balance fee to be paid at the time of Registration for First Semester in respective University / Institute - Rs. 63,000/- Fee for DTU for the remaining three years of B. Fees and Financial Aid
No, I have not opted for any scholarship or education loan. Yes, there are scholarships. Both for reserved and unreserved category. Apart from this, you can easily get a loan from the SBI bank within the campus. Moreover, if you can manage you can take classes in nearby coaching institutes. Fee concession is given to those students whose annual family income is below 4.5 lakhs. Scholarship based on caste is available as per Government norms and for General candidates after filling scholarship form a committee interview the candidate and if they feel students need scholarship they even waive full fees.
Alumni/Alumna
I must say senior students guided me honestly and factually. helped me in explaining all the pros. and cons. of pursuing engineering and motivate me to do that who likes you not anyone. Guiding me from counseling sessions to helping me out in anything (literally anything). all are polite and very friendly.
Admission
IIT JEE Mains exam is required to be cleared to get admission in DTU. I scored 110 in JEE Mains. Admissions are taken on the basis of cut-offs declared by the college itself for different courses according to the categories. 85% seats are reserved for Delhi candidates with a further reservation for ST, SC, OBC, physically handicapped, Kashmiri migrants, etc. JEE Mains, followed by various rounds of counseling. The form was procured online from the website of DTU, the notification is released in the month of June. The administration was helpful and cooperative in their approach. 4 rounds of counseling were held i.e. 4 merit lists were released followed by a spot round to fill the remaining seats.
