What Students Say?
Likes
- The best thing about this college is it is very happening. There are always events happening. People who study designing are already very busy day and night but that does not stop us to master multitasking and be the best in every field.
- There are no teachers, we have mentors who are there to guide us and not tell us what to do.
Dislikes
- The management can be confusing sometimes about the holidays and schedules.
- The roads outside the college is not good.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure is pretty good. In the foundation year you learn skills that you can use anywhere and it strengthens your base. In second year when we actually start with our majors, we use those skills in the most effective way possible.
Internships Opportunities
The faculty members helps you to apply to a number of internships. You can get internship either through applying officially or by your connections or your seniors connections. You can ask for letters of recommendations from the seniors that have worked there before.
Placement Experience
After the completion of sem 3 students start doing internships and mostly by the end of the degree or even before through these internships only they get job offers. Mostly wherever they do their graduation project, they get accepted for a job also depending upon their quality of work.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
The total fees if you opt for hostel, mess and laundry also after the academic fees totals to around 6 LPA. Other than that you have to pay for your own stationery, educational trips like industrial visits (if any). No other lab charges are there. There is an option to apply for scholarship. But the networking and connections are great at the college.
Campus Life
Almost all the festivals from all the cultures of India are celebrated with a blast here. One thing anyone studying at mitid can say without any doubt is that there is never a dull moment in the campus life here.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel rooms are pretty conventional. They are double sharing with 2 single beds, 2 study tables, 2 cupboards and a bathroom. They are cleaned every day but didis. There are time slots for hot water in the washroom day and night. There is a fridge, an induction and 2 water filters.
Admission
As a fashion student I obviously applied to NIFT but with my rank I didn't get the course I wanted in a good branch. I wasn't willing to change the course so I chose a different college. For fashion private colleges are a better option in my opinion because you get better facilities like labs and working environment.
Faculty
The mentor-mentee ratie is very good. Each student gets enough attention from the mentor and can approach ang mentor for doubts anytime. The faculties can be very strict at times but it is for our own good so that we know how to handle deadlines and maintain the quality of work at the same time.
Interview Experience
Yes if you clear your written and drawing exam round, the second round is personal interview where you have to present your portfolio. They might as you questions regarding your portfolio or apart from that about you.
Other Applied Colleges
National Institute of Fashion Technology - [NIFT] | Bachelor of Design [B.Des] (Fashion Communication)
