Remarks

College in terms of faculty is fine, extracurricular activities are good.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

Bachelor's of Arts (Journalism and Mass Communication) is a 3 years degree course. In 3 years you'll get to pass 6 semesters, 2 semesters each year. You'll have 3 compulsory subjects and 1 subject of your choice in every semester. You'll have to give 2 internal exams and one external exam for each subject where internals marked for 25 and externals marked from 75, the total of internal and external would be your final result of the semester. It's relevant for a better revision and preparation for exams.

Placement Experience

1

Placement from the college is nothing. At the time of admission the promises you for the placement but after you take admission all promises vanished.

College Events

4

1. Orientation, 2. Departmental Orientation, 3. Independence day celebration, 4. Teacher's day celebration, 5. Freshers, 6. Zest (Annual cultural fest of Lingaya's University), 7. Zeal (Annual cultural fest of College), 8. Anogoonj (Annual Cultural fest of GGSIPU), 9. Antarman (Media fest of college).

Fees and Financial Aid

I didn't opt any scholarship or education loan, but my fellow classmates did, the fill some form in college which is given by the university for the scholarship and scholarship granted by the university on the basis of the student's 12th class result.

Campus Life

2

Campus life in Lingaya's Lalita Devi Institute of management and sciences is just fine. The major problem is the location of the campus on Mandi Road, which is not safe for girls especially. Well if talk about in-Campus life that is good, activities are organized on a weekly basis, labs for editing and shooting will be provided by the permission of the HOD.

Alumni/Alumna

Our seniors are very helpful to us. It is an anti-ragging campus. The alumni network is also very strong by the college.

Admission

I've got admission by clearing IPU CET 2018, and through the online counseling, round conducted by GGSIPU. After clearing the IPU CET exam, you have to take part in online counseling for the further process. There are 3 rounds of online counseling. Before the first round online counseling, you have to fill the choice filling in which you put the colleges as your preference from top to bottom. If you'll get any college from online counseling, then you have to pay Rs 40000(part academic fee). If you failing to pay a part academic fee then your part on the online counseling will be over. After paying a part academic fee to wait for the admission round, in admission round, you'll visit your allotted college and after pay the rest of the academic fee you'll get admission.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty for the course BA(JMC) is good. Faculty is the main attraction for the students. The faculty here is always supportive of the students. But faculty member changes frequently. So the student doesn't get stability with the subjects. As of one time, a professor left the college in the middle of the semester and college authority didn't hire a new one for approx next 1 month, so the students suffer their studies for 1 month.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of our college is functional and active. The chances depend on the course that you have opted for. The placements are really good for commerce, economics, Maths, Stats but for the other department's students it might be a bit challenging to find a company of their domain. The students become eligible to sit in placement from 5th semester. The companies that visit my college are Godrej, BCG, McKinsey, Nation with Namo, Blackstone, Accenture, KPMG, EY, citibank, microsoft and Amazon etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Journalism was first introduced in Delhi University at DCAC. The amazing faculty and a proper media studio makes Delhi College of Arts and Commerce a perfect choice for Jouranlism aspirants. The media studio has professional mics, green screen, cameras, teleprompter, switcher and other equipment required for real life learning. The classes are full-fledged, sometimes irregular. Exams are scheduled at the end of each semester. However, internal and continous assesment happen regularly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate my course four out of five because in journalism is a field where people are not about so much. The main stream media does not show the real problems and challengs of the country. They live in a bubble of their own. Many of the times they provide miss information to the people which hurts the hearts of the people. They do not cover multiple aspects of media. The exams in the daj is not so hard you can easily pass it by just 4 to 5 days of preparation.
