Course Curriculum Overview

3

Actually I didn't go through the course curriculum properly and I might sound crazy saying this but the sem break and year break is a little too much for the fees we're paying and the course we've chosen. One month sounds okay but imagine getting two months for sem break?insane right? No one actually wants it. One month for year break and a few weeks for sem break sounds okay. And not giving vacation for festives and Christmas can't be justified with the unnecessary leaves. Exam schedule is very much likeable. The exams are not difficult, easy to average. But the marking is a little confusing.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Stapati, alrx jacob architects is what drew me into manipal actually. I've always wanted to work and experience in STAPATI and yet yeah I didn't go for avani but manipal yes. I'm still very unsure about the whole internship procedures and whatsoever because never get much time to think about what's ahead in architecture

Placement Experience

4.5

The median package offered during ug-5years stood at 8.93 LPA Top companies offered are ATKINS,total environment, aditya birla fashion and retail, space monkey media, stapati, space matrix, alex jacob architect etc: Around 72% students get placements. After my UG I'm thinking of going for few experience round and then do my M Arch from Turkey.

Fees and Financial Aid

The annual fees is 4,16,000 and the admission fees was 4,06,000. Hostel fees is upto 1,56,000 including mess and 1,08,000 without it. The caution deposit is around 10,000. The cad lab charges according to the sheets we print.

Campus Life

5

So I'm a very homebody person and not the hangout person. So I have a good balanced college, social and gym life. And I make sure I don't mess it up. The range of clubs and extra curricular provided by campus and the university is insanely amazing. So many clubs, sports, dance. I'm part of the literature and dance club of my college. As a second year I haven't still gotten the courage to go all-in and apply for university clubs.but one day

Hostel Facilities

4

Ths hostel rooms are amazing. I live in a single share room.very spacious and lively. Has a connected living with sofas and kitchen top. And good shower. The mess food is amazing with variety of meals

Admission

I applied to other colleges in kerala. Cat,trivandrum and avani, calicut. Both were much more amazing than MSAP comparing the infrastructure, college aesthetics, architecture vibes and as a malayali, maybe the right spot. But not widely ranged, connected nor the placements matched up to my likes. We have to meet the NATA criteria and have good marks in board. Nothing much

Faculty

3.5

The faculties are very open and approachable, a need as an architecture student. Very inspiring too. Theory subjects are a little to catch up so each sem according to the faculties, there were struggles. 2sessionals and a main exam along with one design exam. If I'm briefing about it,every odd sem we have viva and jury for the end sem in design exam and every even sem we have a drawn test and jury. 5% of the students fail and pass with the makeup.

Other Applied Colleges

Avani Institute of Design | Bachelor of Architecture [B.Arch]

It was a second option from the get-go and got into manipal first too.

Placement Experience:

Architecture is completely a solo thinking work we can work in groups as well but if a structure is designed by a single architect then it has a taste of that particular person but if its a group then all will be mixed and have different kind of brains giving different ideas soo an individual can manage even if he doesnt get a placement

Course Curriculum Overview:

You'll indulge in a lot of painting and are related stuff. Well since Architecture is not only about art, there are subjects which will use up your brain cells. You also get to go to study trips too! The ride is not smooth- everyday would be a submission day , everyday would be a love-hate relationship with the course. Internal reviews, external reviews, viva and jury, presentation and assignments, written exams...theyre enough to keep you busy throughout. Since its Affiliated to vtu, the system does seem not so updated to date. You cannot expect to have a month of holidays after each Semester too. Dont dream of having a pleasant vacation break.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is more condensed that other colleges', so it makes it easier to tackle multiple things at once. The course prepares us for real world applications through their dual internship program, which is a strong point in their curriculum. If the course in itself had more real world applications, instead of very superficial ideas, it would be more helpful The exams are a hurdle, but it comes with the rigor of the course, and it is something students end up adapting to over the course of 5 years.

Course Curriculum Overview:

If you check with other colleges the approach to the curriculum is different and more fun. The process of learning is more fun and appealing making us satisfied of what we have done at the end. Sometimes we don't get how the teachers are expecting us to do our assignments but we figure it out some how. Exams happen twice a semester (mid-sem and end-sem).

Since our HOD changed this year, I'm not sire about when the placements are available, most probably would be for the 5th year students so 9th sem onwards. Not sur3 about which companies either, highest package would be 8000 I'm guessing, we don't get paid much. My plan is to switch courses, this was absolutely useless to me :)
