Course Curriculum Overview
I chose IT as the tech industry is growing. Also in our uni IT has a record of getting better placements and better staff. I think it's not about the curriculum here. It's rather about the work you put in on yourself. The self study and extra skills you gain is what is going to help you. Teaching method is good but some staff need to teach better as they come and jusf read stuff from books or write on white board and go. Exam schedule is never great here. They keep continuous papers without any gap which is frustrating
Fees and Financial Aid
For Btech in IT the 1st year fee was Rs.95,000(ssc course) For tuition fee waiver you have to pay around Rs.45,000 per year. There are 2-3 scholarships available and each student can avail only one. One is based on your jee score where if you are in the top 10% of your class you will be getting Rs.10000. 2nd one is based on your income and matric score whereyoucan get upto Rs.20,000
Campus Life
The annual tech fest here is called EXTASY which is quite good but as compared to private colleges it's less glamorous. The tech fest is called ZAIRZEST which is great and they organise a lot of fun events. The library here isn't very active but we can go. Sports culture is great here and regular events get organized here. Also there are a lot of clubs here eg. Tech club, literary club, music club, dance club, art and craft club, aerospace club, ewb club and more
Admission
I had applied to just 2 colleges. Out of which one is the one I'm studying rn and the other one is IIT bhubaneswar. I got here as i didn't get any computer science related branch based on the merit. And hence i was very sure of coming here as it's a government college and the placement is great and course fee is less. Admission process is simple here. We just need to keep the required documents ready and it takes half an hour or so. We need to clear the JEE mains or the OJEE exam with good score to get here
Faculty
Can't say about the exact ratio but there are enough faculties for students. Student teacher relationship is great here as they're very approachable. The exam department is a mess here. They tend to trouble the students a lot. We have 4exams per session. 2 mid semesters and 2 semesters. Exams are moderately difficult. Not much student fail here. Around 5-6 get back overall. Course curriculum is relevant.
