Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

As I said before the curriculum is very different from the normal English Honours courses people do , I even compared it with my other friends at different universities, despite of just focusing on old school literatures they are teaching us phonology, morphology , syntax , pragmatism and other important aspects of language, they are also teaching students skills to use English in corporate world , design and write content for companies and make money . Overall, this course is amazing. The only place they should improve is to provide internships for better learning.

Internships Opportunities

4

The clubs here provide internship every now and then , it includes various fields like content writing and web designing and logistics and social media management, it highly polishes the social skills , during fest season the crowd management skills are given a test, various NGO's also keep providing short term recruitments.

Fees and Financial Aid

In the first year along with the admission fees, I paid a sum of ?10,000 in total , including all the charges. During the second year I paid ?6,400 as the total college fees. In third year this fees cuts down to ?4000 for the whole year. The fees is same for all the categories. The institution provides a lot of scholarships, some of them are merit based while others are given after conducting the scholarship tests. Also there are various private scholarships funded by alumni organisations of the university that pay for financially struggling students.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is amazing as I said before that it is one of the most beautiful campus in India, spreading over acres and acres. There are various clubs , infact for every field of interest there is a club . There is University Debating and Literature Club for people who love geopolitics and literature. There is Club for Short Evening Courses, for people interested in web development and commercial activities. There is a Hindustani Music Club for traditional musicians and Western music Club for pop music lovers. Then there is Hobbies Club where you just do whatever you love to. There is Fine arts club for artists and an eco club for environmentalists. It also looks after the greenery of the campus. There is also University Drama Club, which performs stage plays , it contributes greatly to the culture here.

Admission

I applied three places , Jamia Millia Islamic, I got a rejection letter. University of Delhi, I got selected here and also in Aligarh Muslim University, but as I said before this course was different and much more futuristic than the normal language honours courses .

Faculty

5

Aligarh Muslim University's campus is one of the most beautiful campus in India, it is spread over acres, it's one of the four national universities and The Department Of English, Faculty of Arts comes under the most respected once, the professors are amazing working under them feels like working under an epitome of knowledge. The papers written by professors here are published in universities like Princeton and Harvard. Getting taught by such great people makes it more fun. Apart from , Faculty of Arts , the faculty of law here is amazing , providing internships in Supéreme Court and making you work under great lawyers. The exams are conducted at the end of each semester, they're of 80 marks . The marking is very hard and people rarely touch 8.5 gpa. The 30 marks are given to sessionals or internals taken by the professor incharge.

Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith - [MGKVP], Bachelor of Arts [BA] (Education)
Reviewed on Feb 17, 2026(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The BA curriculum in my college at Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith (MGKVP) for the 2025–2026 academic year is structured under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, making it academically comprehensive but traditionally theoretical. It follows a six-semester system that offers a wide range of subjects, from core Humanities (History, Political Science, Hindi) to modern electives and Vocational courses (e.g., Nutrition, Yoga, or Digital Literacy), providing students with a multidisciplinary framework. In terms of relevance, the syllabus is exceptionally well-suited for students aiming for government services and competitive exams (UPSC/UPPSC), as the depth of social science subjects mirrors the state and national civil service patterns. However, its professional comprehensiveness is lower; while the curriculum includes internal assessments, presentations, and project work to build soft skills, the actual delivery remains focused on rote learning and theory rather than industry-ready practical training. Consequently, the course is highly relevant for an academic or administrative career path but requires significant self-supplementation (internships or external skill-building) for those seeking immediate roles in the private sector.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is well structured, relevant, and comprehensive. One of the main reasons I chose this course was its balanced syllabus, which includes both theoretical concepts and practical applications. The curriculum is designed in a way that builds a strong foundation in core subjects while also introducing advanced topics gradually. This helps students understand subjects deeply rather than just studying for exams.
