Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

Relevance of curriculum is a joke not just in this but any other college you're checking that. For a reference, you'll have to perform similar labs of physics and chemistry as you will have did in PU or +1 +2. You will also have few senseless subjects and spend time making report for those subjects. You will start having revelant subjects from 2nd year but there are just 2-4 of them. There are few subjects which are very relevant but no matter you have that in future, present or past sem you have to go through it for placement no matter which college or university you enroll in. Coming to my choice for ISE, i didn't get CSE in this college.

Placement Experience

3

As of 2024 everyone must be aware that there is a recession going on in the industry so don't just judge a college based on placement number. Coming to my college specifically this year the highest package stood at 42 lkhs but it is cracked by an student in AIML department (so don't cry for CSE) and i dont know weather it's oncampus or offcampus. Everyear highest package stands at 50lkh vicinity offered by Adobe and the average placement stands at around 4-6 lakhs. Highest package i mean only 1 person cracks it; 4-6 get around 22-25LPA and rest all are from under 16LPA. So don't glance of just highest number; look for more dense number. One thing i'm sure about is that no college placement record is excellent at this point and in comparision RNSIT is better.

Fees and Financial Aid

I got my admission through KCET quota through which you are charged the least amout of money, for my 2nd year they charged approx 64k as tuition fee 31.5k as other fee and a hair over 7k as VTU fee. The total came out to be nearly 1.03 lakh rupees which was for 2nd year. For the third year the fees has increased by 3k but they havent yet updated the detailed fee structure so I cannot mention it. There are also other two ways to get into this college .i.e. through COMEDK and Management Quota. I'm not sure about the fees charged during the 1st year but do know that for second year the fees stood at 2.4 lakhs and for third year the fees has been increased by 20k and now stands at 2.6 lakhs. Coming to COMEDK I'm not sure weather i can tell you guys that fee for ISE was 6X that of mine and for CSE was about 10X that of mine.... so I'm not telling that. Do bear in my that when i got admitted in 2022 the college was affiliated to VTU and now it has become autonomous, so fee has increased.

Campus Life

2.5

The campus has a lot of space on offer, is comparision it is spacious then most tier 2 colleges(teir one being IIT's and NIT's) and that's a good thing. Except the infrastructure looks itself is a let down. The auditorium is great cause it has different design language in comparision to the rest of the college. The whole college has same basic exterior carried on by other buildings from RNS group. The interiors are pretty good and no complaint abnout it but the exterior isn't anything to brag about, but so are many colleges. And for clubs frankly speaking if you have contacts with seniors, think you're already a part of club(it's the same story in every college). There is a fashion show club, a club for drama(both north indians and sounth indians have seperate groups), there is a group for singing, and if you wish you can start your own club; best of luck if you wish to. But don't expect the fest to be on par with tier 2 colleges; they are just utter dissapointment.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

If you are plqanning to choose Hostel then please drop it. Firstly the prices are high; they increased rent by 30k which in total now costs 1.6 Lakh which made a lot of hostelites to shift to PG. The food is sometimes okay and sometimes bad(same story with any college) and you have curfew timing of 08:30 tough you can roam within the campus for longer and library is open for hostelites upto 11:00PM. Also you have to go to common area to take bath you're only provided with toilet attached with room. PG's are better for freedom as well as ameinities as well as being cheaper. You won't get necessarily good food but it will be better than hostel for sure. I have personally rernted flat with in sharing with my frinds and we have also hired a cook. As i said earlier location of college is in inexpensive place to rent out a flat. Only thing to look for is water crisis in banglore which isn't a problem in Hostel but might be problem in PG or Flat.

Admission

Frankly this was the best college i could get into and hence i choose this. Everyone tries for tier 2 colleges which are BMSCE, RVCE, DSCE, MSRIT,etc. But i couldn't make it as i didn't have the rank or enough money to get management seat. Bewarned you might find few colleges which have stricter cutoff then this one, but lower cutoff does not mean better college. I also looked at SJBIT, JSSATE,etc. But all of those was backup and i got better cholice in my eyes. Coming to admission process it was simple, you take the allotment letter along with few documents you fill few acknowledgment forms pay some amount expect shy of 20k and they keep your original marks cards until you complete your course. The acknowledgement letter states that if you decide to leave college in between any year; you'll have to bear the whole fees else your original documents won't be returned and also that you are fired from college from any reason which was your fault; the fees will not be compensated.

Faculty

4.5

Each class would have around 60-70 students depends on branch and the strength increases after 2nd sem as lateral entry students join you. And coming to faculty let me be clear that there will always be one or two khadus no matter where you go but in this college let me assure most teachers are very friendly. If you even approach then to do a reel together then beleive me they will.... Check insta page for yourself. I cannot tell anything about bad experience with teachers cause at the end they turned out to be realle really good. And also fyi twicw every sem you have to give something about OTAS which is a anonymuas review system that everyone has to give about theyre current sem teachers. its is compulsary and completely anonymus. Consider is any teacher has been given bad review she is questioned by seniors and soo don't worry for unfair practices. If teacher turs out to be hitler just get united in front of HOD and you'll make it.

Interview Experience

2.5

There isn't any interview before getting admitted to your college via CET or COMEDK. I don't know how management seat works but in my case there wasn't any GD. Even you won't meet principle or Dean or HOD while admission process (and it's same in every college. Atleast in Banglore). You just do your paper work, pay fees, submit documents, and that's it you have been admitted to college.

Placement Experience:

Placements at RNS Institute of Technology are good. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th or 7th semester. Many companies visit the college, including IT and core companies. Some of the common recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and a few core companies for EEE. The average package is around 3 to 5 LPA, and higher packages are also offered for top-performing students. The highest package can go much higher depending on the company. Around 70–80% of students get placed, mainly in IT roles. For EEE students, core placements are limited, but there are good opportunities in software roles. The college also provides training and support for placements. After completing my degree, I plan to get placed in a good company and build my career.

Most of the students get placed from the campus placements. Students get eligible for campus placements from the fifth semester. Companies like HP, Infosys, Wipro come for recruiting and make offers from 3L per annum to 30 L per annum. Around 70 percent of the students get placed through campus placement. I plan on working for a dream company after completing my degree.

The CGPA of the students is 7.5 or more is good below this also get selected but more than 7.5 is good. My plan is after completion of course then do work and get some experience in the industries and some of the time I am going to select a product and launch it over the world.

Placement Experience:

I applied to colleges like BMSIT and Sir MVIT, and I had confirmed seats there, too. I chose RNSIT because it has a better reputation for placements in my branch and the campus environment felt more welcoming. I didn't get into RVCE because my KCET rank wasn't high enough for their top branches, as the competition was very tough that year. The admission process is simple. They mainly take students through KCET and COMEDK. You need at least 45% in your 12th boards (PCM). Most students prefer KCET because the fees are lower. Once the seat is allotted through counseling, you just visit the campus, submit your documents, and pay the fees. The whole process was quite smooth and well-organized."

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very unique, and very new, we are not taught irrelevant subjects and topics like every university does, Polaris school of technology (PST) is a new gen college which mainly focuses on tech, producing the best engineers not amongst india but amongst the world, it's aim is to produce engineers who are better than IITians and MITians, all these specifications influenced me to choose this course/curriculum When it comes to real-world applications, Polaris school of technology(PST) gives us real-life problems and scenario based projects through evaluations which help us in the future and helps us to build a proper approach for problems and train us to be the best. We have two main exams per sem which would be conducted every 3 months that is ½th of the sem, we have a total of 8 sems, so total 16 exams, our exams would be difficult for other college students, but not for us as we have the best mentors.
