Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum they follow us by and large arranged by the National Medical Council- UnderGraduate Medical Education Board. There is adherence to the curriculum put forth but also some additional adjustments to the provided schedule to accommodate it accordingly.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

We have to do a mandatory internship following the completion of the four and half year course. During the internship we will be posted for all the departments in the hospital. There is plenty of opportunities to work as a tutor after the completion of internship.

Fees and Financial Aid

We have to pay a additional fee of 40k every year for transport so the yearly payment for A cat is around 55k. In the first year we pay additional amount of 30k for caution deposit, library and other accomdities which will be given back at the time of course completion. For B cat the fee is around 12L per year and for C cat around 36L. There is going to be additional fee for record of around 15k for 4 years which will have to be paid for yearly i.e. 3-4k per year.

Campus Life

3.5

There weren't many events conducted in the college for the past few years except for the college annual day and prior to that sports week and culturals week. We have whitecoat ceremony in the first year apart from this. Now new clubs have started there is in toto of 8 clubs namely books and journal, green, dance, music, fine arts, quiz and debate, yoga and sports club. There is student council, library committee, women cell, etc All lecture halls are well equipped with the technological epuipments and well furnished. There is a weird variety of sports grounds available and there is also gym in the hostel.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The rooms are really good and well maintained. There is mostly three share rooms for final year part 1 and 2 students or they may take a two share room. The first and second years have two, three, four and five share rooms. All rooms have 1 AC (2 in four and five share rooms), fans corresponding to the no.of.beds, lights double the no.of.beds, table, chair and cupboard for each individual. The fee paid is exclusive to the room and we have to pay for the mess bill separately and the electricity bill should be prepaid. Dhobis are available and charge 350 per month for washing and in case of ironing it is separate cost per cloth. The meals are ok they aren't that tasty but we can survive. There is a reading hall, gym and sick rooms in the hostel. It is regularly cleaned and very well maintained. We have to record every time we exit the hostel and come back.

Admission

The admission is through NEET-UG. I chose this college after the government college of the AU region as my father wished for me to study within the AU region so that I wouldn't need to adjust much and can travel back home easily when required. This was my fifth choice after Andhra medical College, Rangaraya medical College, Guntur medical College, Government medical college- Srikakulam. I wouldn't get into them because of the rank I have secured.

Faculty

4

All the departments have sufficient faculty but would need more faculty especially the paraclinical subjects and few clinical subjects. All the faculty are very approachable and are available round the clock for clarifying any concepts and all are proficient in English. We have mentor-mentee programme where in each faculty is assigned few students with whom they regularly check in with about their academics, mental health, etc. All departments follow the CBME curriculum provided by the NMC.

Course Curriculum Overview:

1}the specific aspect that influenced my decision are my parent and relatives who hold the social stigma of being a doctor can give a secured life whereas nowadays doctor is one of the most vulnerable profession due to the incidents that are happening recently 2}the cirriculum is not great for students when it comes to the topic of facing real world situations as being in pvt.college doesnt exopse us to vasr amount of patients and mostly the graduates dont know how to deal with patients 3}the areas that should need an improvement is in imrpoving dissection hall facilities and posting lessers members in a sysytematic way to give time for each and every student a better exposure to the patients 4}the frequency of exams is adequate enough for an above avg student to cope up with the burdensome and vast syllabus but it might be diffucult for a below avg student and my perspective of the difficulty level is somewhat tough and stressful

Course Curriculum Overview:

Actually MBBS is structured in such a way that it helps students step by step to learn.. it's anything but perfect .. I am not in a position to suggest but when we are exposed to this vast world in first year which is entirely new to us,it is difficult for us to adjust. We step by step start learning to accommodate in this new world and by the time we adjust and start reading first year comes to and end and then only running,we don't have time to atleast cover our basics so that we can continue for further 3 years.. basics when we aren't aware of we can't confidently go into next years syllabus, but if we try studying basics in the next year we will be again lagging the next year syllabus and cycle goes on.. Mental pressure is the most common that we all feel and for relieving we don't have anything,no cultural activity,no sports,nothing.. that is why many are getting on the wrong side and getting addicted to phone, movies, other addictions
