What Students Say

Likes

The security inside the college premises is really appreciative. Girls can roam safely at nights without any fear.
There is a good opportunity for a social interactions. Seminars are conducted on a regular basis in order to decrease stage fear.
There are several labs and enough clinical exposure.

Dislikes

Although the security is good sometimes it gets too overwhelming.
Outing timings are restricted for girls although it is not same for boys.
Hostel food is not that worthy of the fee that we are paying.

Course Curriculum Overview

Our curriculum is CBME based. Various techniques like Small group discussions, self directed learning and seminars are conducted. Our curriculum encourages students to learn in new methods like article citations etc. Overall at the end of the year the syllabus is covered time to time.

Class Size: 350Course Fees: INR 55000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

I paid 55000 per academic year. Tution fees, transport fees and library fee come under the same paid fee. This is for A category students. B category students pay 12 lakh and c category 37 lakh per academic year. ICMR and UGSRS scholarships are given if the presented research proposals are accepted. Students who acquired distinction are given a cash prize as a token of appreciation.

Campus Life

Various tests and culturals are being conducted. Different batch games are conducted. There are different events conducted on special occasions like Dusshera, diwali etc. We have clubs like music club, dance club, books and journal club etc. We have a digitalised library.

Admission

I applied all government colleges and few private colleges. I got accepted in GSL Medical College at first. However I got moved to ASRAMS based on marks in phase 2. I didn't get enough marks hence didn't get into the government colleges. The eligibility was based on the cut offs which varies year to year.

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is good. Each student is assigned a mentor who is among the faculty. This improves the relation between student and faculty.they are quite approachable. The exam evaluation is fair and we are given a chance to correct our mistakes.

The life of a medico in a government medical college

Placement Experience:

There is no such thing as campus placement in medical courses.. we are provided with internship with the linked hospital with an approximate stipend of 30k per month for a year and after that we receive the course completion certificate and we can either practice in a clinic or pursue the post graduation upon our interests..

I got a all india rank of around 17000 and state rank of 1049 . Now i got md general medicine in kurnool medical college. So it gives you great knowledge for the seeking. Yearly one final with practicals and 3 internals which are easy one if you study moderate ly also .

Course Curriculum Overview:

MBBS is the only course that could make me a surgeon that I always wanted to become, hence I chose this course I choose this college due to its high patient load . I could also go to AIIMS Deogarh, Jammu, Guwahati, Madhurai or Jipmer Karaikal but I choose AMC over them is due to Patient load only.Here I can get good clinical exposure compared to those There are programs like Family Adoption programme, Early Clinical Exposure form the first year itself , and from second year only students go to ward postings. There is always real world application in this course This course particularly dont want any improvements in my opinion, NMC regulates and improves the curriculum in real time and that is implemented in this college perfectly. For every like 3 months we have internal exams to assess ourselves . And final exams in the last.

Placement Experience:

we have to visit our hospital from 1st year of college, and we start interacting with patients from 1st year onwards, up to 4th year we are practicing in our college and after that, we have to do an internship in our hospital only all qualified students which pass all the prof exams can do the internship, after the internship I will go for higher studies.

About Asram medical college

I choose this college because the studies in this college is very good and exposure of clinical knowlege also and has vast library named ABDUL KALAM CENTRAL library and and has very good book collection.we have crack NEET exam to get into this coarse.
