Course Curriculum Overview

5

MBBS is the only course that could make me a surgeon that I always wanted to become, hence I chose this course I choose this college due to its high patient load . I could also go to AIIMS Deogarh, Jammu, Guwahati, Madhurai or Jipmer Karaikal but I choose AMC over them is due to Patient load only. Here I can get good clinical exposure compared to those There are programs like Family Adoption programme, Early Clinical Exposure form the first year itself , and from second year only students go to ward postings. There is always real world application in this course This course particularly dont want any improvements in my opinion, NMC regulates and improves the curriculum in real time and that is implemented in this college perfectly. For every like 3 months we have internal exams to assess ourselves . And final exams in the last.

Internships Opportunities

5

You have to work in KGH or in primary Health centres as MBBS Doctors or Medical officers in your 1 year compulsion rotatory internship and the salary is around 22000. There you'll get to learn about basic medical procedures.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution Fee - 15000 (every year) University fee( For AIQ Students only) including DD Charges - 10600+50 (One time payment) Cooperative Stores Fee - 2000 (One Time Payment) Andhra Medical college Students Association - 1000 (One time payment) Andhra Medical College Sports Fund- 2000 ( One time payment) For State quota Students there is no University Fee as mentioned above

Campus Life

5

There are plenty of events in this college, Freshers, farewells, convocations etc and even events for festivals like diwali etc . There is no lack of events and culturals here There is a big library with reading rooms. We can borrow books and journals anytime. SC,ST students can borrow books for free for the whole year. There is a sports period everyday. There is a big ground near Men's Hostel and interestes people can go and play. Definetly in the first year there is senior domination but you'll get chances further on . There are extracurricular activities like Yoga, NCC, NSS .Interested people can join those activities.

Admission

MCC conducts counselling for admission into all medical colleges in india through AIQ. In choice filling I filled AIIMS Mangalagiri and then this college, I couldn't get AIIMS mangalagiri even after scoring 690 due to rank inflation this year, My All India Rank was 3336. So I choose this college. I refused to join in other peripheral AIIMS due to lack of patient load , and other state colleges due to language barrier You have to qualify NEET exam to be eligible for admission in this college. The cutoff varies every year and the closing rank for Round 3 AIQ General category is 11182 and For state quota is varies depending upon the regions( there are 2 regions here AU and SVU) . Admission procedure takes up 1 day and it's very smooth. Just go there with asked documents and they will guide you properly

Faculty

3

There are a lot of faculty and a lot of students too. But still faculty to student ratio is not good. But there are programmes like SGTs etc which ensures every student to build connection with faculty . 2 of Anatomy professors teach very good and interact with students. One of them is the professors in my dissection table. She explains things very well. I liked her teaching in this college Most of the faculty read out of slides , MBBS is just about self study. There are 3 internal assesments, 2 practical assesments and Final university exams for the first year . There are seperate Gold medal exams . Generally in other colleges who got the highest marks in final exams are awarded Gold Medal. But we have seperate gold medal exams.

Night Life

5

Gym is in Men's hostel, it's good but there is senior domination and first years can't access it College timings are 9-4 . There are plenty of Hangout places in Vizag, lots of parks and beach road is literally 5 mins away from college , yeah vizag is very safe to roam at night

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum that we follow us CBME curriculum. That reflects the clinical knowledge blended with the general knowledge of mbbs and this curriculum suits us in terms of many applications to the practice of medicine. The difficulty level is increased for the final exams but it is good for the competition that increased in these days.

My choice for this profession is that,it gives highest level of respect It is the Profession to save the lives of people The life which was taken away by the evil can be dragged back by the doctors The first year's dissection of cadavers,2nd 3rd 4th year's gives the experience to treat any case and to overcome the fear of blood No improvements needed in our college,as everything seems perfect Timing is planned by expertise, frequency of exams is very accurate and gives boost to remember every topic

Course Curriculum Overview:

1}the specific aspect that influenced my decision are my parent and relatives who hold the social stigma of being a doctor can give a secured life whereas nowadays doctor is one of the most vulnerable profession due to the incidents that are happening recently 2}the cirriculum is not great for students when it comes to the topic of facing real world situations as being in pvt.college doesnt exopse us to vasr amount of patients and mostly the graduates dont know how to deal with patients 3}the areas that should need an improvement is in imrpoving dissection hall facilities and posting lessers members in a sysytematic way to give time for each and every student a better exposure to the patients 4}the frequency of exams is adequate enough for an above avg student to cope up with the burdensome and vast syllabus but it might be diffucult for a below avg student and my perspective of the difficulty level is somewhat tough and stressful

Course Curriculum Overview:

Actually MBBS is structured in such a way that it helps students step by step to learn.. it's anything but perfect .. I am not in a position to suggest but when we are exposed to this vast world in first year which is entirely new to us,it is difficult for us to adjust. We step by step start learning to accommodate in this new world and by the time we adjust and start reading first year comes to and end and then only running,we don't have time to atleast cover our basics so that we can continue for further 3 years.. basics when we aren't aware of we can't confidently go into next years syllabus, but if we try studying basics in the next year we will be again lagging the next year syllabus and cycle goes on.. Mental pressure is the most common that we all feel and for relieving we don't have anything,no cultural activity,no sports,nothing.. that is why many are getting on the wrong side and getting addicted to phone, movies, other addictions
