Course Curriculum Overview
The social science course is very knowledgeful & it attracted me because it develops our overall concept of everything. This curriculum teach us about real-world applications especially my hons. subject Sociology & degree from BHU are very good for future aspects. The areas for improvement is that classes can run regularly. Frequency of exams is it happens twice in a year. The difficulty level is moderate.
Internships Opportunities
There are many internships companies comes here. This year Azim Premji Foundation took many students for internship & placement at good salary and they also provide too good opportunities for future. BHU is multidisciplinary university with many courses. So, all types of projects run here and various companies comes here.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees I paid at the time of admission for Semester I was Rs. 2253. For Even Semesters (2 & 4) I paid Rs. 325 each. For Sem 3 it was 1731 & For Sem 5 it is 1531. I had a practical subject in my core (Applied Statistics). For my batchmates, with non-practical subjects, it was Rs. 100 less fee every odd semester. You can apply for NSP for scholarship & also UP Scholarship (for UP Students). Here, you can also apply for Earn While Learn where you can get upto Rs. 9000 depending upon your attendance at work in assigned office.
Campus Life
My college experience has been really great with fests & all festivals here celebrated with too much joy and best time here is Janmashtami & Foundation Day of BHU on the day of Saraswati Puja. The Central Library is very big & has all required books, journals, novels, etc. The new classrooms has smart class & smart lecture table installed which provide ease in learning things. Sports & extracurricular activities is too good here with all types of facilities like swimming, NCC & all sports are here. Also, each year sports season is organised for two months. Club culture here is very good. Students here run NGO for underprivileged children & also many clubs snd societies are here which helps in holistic development.
Admission
I applied to DU & JNU other than BHU but JNU has not any social science course for UG and I didn't liked DU because it is divided into many campus but BHU is multi faculty college which enhances overall knowledge. No, I didn't got rejected and I was getting all the colleges I applied. You have to give CUET exam to get admission in BHU and eligibility differs as per course & faculty. For, Social Sciences & Arts, you have to appear in Language & General Test in CUET.
Faculty
Faculty members here are very good. They form good friendly relationship with students & they are very much approachable to solve your issues. Faculties of Sociology departments are good. They are very cooperative & teach us practically. Some faculties of Science are not that much friendly than Arts & Social Sciences. We have to give examinations every semester & before semester exam, there is mid-sem exam. Papers are moderate & very less number of students do fail. Course syllabus is very much relevant & helpful.
Other Applied Colleges
Delhi University - [DU] | Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (Political Science)
I have always been aspired to join BHU & I think facilities, fees, campus, and everything is better here.
