Course Curriculum Overview
The course has 7 Financial Accounting papers covering various types of accounting methods. The curriculum also introduces to Business Mathematics and Economics (Macro). Financial management subject has 3 Total Papers and Cost Accounting & Taxation have 4 papers each, throughly the course period (3 years University batches) The exams are at regular intervals and moderately difficult. The only con is less use of case study methods and some outdated concepts.
Placement Experience
The placements begin in semester 5 i.e the Final Year. The companies which visit the campus include KPMG, BSR LLP Ltd, Deloitte and roles such as Tax Analyst, Forensic Analyst, Transaction Invoice Analyst are offered. Placements are highly competitive and not many get placed. My plan is to pursue higher studies.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
The fees is affordable. For my course (B.Com A&F or BAF) 2021-2024 First year - 27610 Second Year - 26728 Third Year - 32132. The fees is increasing by some percent every year. The fees is same for everyone, all category students. Scholarship Available SEAT (College Level) 50% of the fees Paid - Merit cum means basis. MahaDBT (State Government) Amount Depends on Caste and category.
Campus Life
The fests include the annual fest of the college SIESONS which has many different events and also has Concernt on the last day. The college also has various department fests like Advaita- Commerce , Frames- BAMMC, Sharpshooters - BMS. The competition have rewards in the form of certificates, cash prize.
Admission
I had applied to the college and was shortlisted in the second round of admissions. I missed admission at R A Podar College, Matunga due to 1 mark. Compared to it, this college was my second choice. It was as per my research of faculty and placement opportunities.
Faculty
The Faculty members are supportive and help students in their subjects. The Faculty to student ratio is good. Class teachers are highly approachable. For University Batches (Now the College is Autonomous) There are 6 semesters (last 2 sems i.e final year taken by University of Mumbai) Wherein 6 External exams 75 Marks 6 internal exam 20 marks And 5 marks in each sem for class participation. Exams are from Moderate to Difficulty level.
