Likes
- I like how to faculties teach and interact with the students.They not just teach us about the subjects but also teach us about social responsibilities and help us in doubt clearing regarding subjects
- Infrastructure of the college is one of the best thing. It has every necessary things a student would need.All the buildings are well maintained and looks very attractive.
- I like the social environment of the college which has so many people which make us to come out of our comfort zone and talk with them.It helped me to interact and mingle with many people
Dislikes
- I feel that there are many students in a single classroom.my class consists of 83 students.Due to which the teacher won't be able to concentrate on every student and make sure everyone understands what they are teaching.
- Timings are followed very strictly.Even if a student is 3 minutes late to the class , the faculty doesn't let him or her in class.Even if the student have a valid reason he is denied to enter the class.
- Most of the times Bathrooms are closed due to cleaning purpose.And during class times if the toilet in a floor is closed, we had to walk down to ground floor to use the toilet there which which delays the time to go back to class.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course which I took is bcom which is taught to us in a very detailed way. Additional they also teach us about Excel which is help full for business related work.I think the syllabus should focus mainly on theory rather than journal entries and balach sheet as a person will not be hired to do such things in present time.In 1 semester which is 6 months has one mid term exam and final exam .The exams are easy as there are enough time to study.
Internships Opportunities
For my course Bcom corporate internship is give which has both salary and non salary internship.This internship should be done in 3rd year of the degree.There are many companies that offer internship such as Infosys, nexus, etc
Placement Experience
As now I am studying 2nd year there is no placement for me yet.There are placements for 3rd year students of all courses including mine. Infosys is one of the company which offers placement for 3rd year students.The highest package is 7 lakh per annum and the minimum is 15000 per month. After completing bcom I planned to do any additional course or post graduate course.
Fees and Financial Aid
During the admission of the course in my college I paid 100000 rupees,in which 10000 was an additional fee for cbse and icse students which will be paid only during admission. And 15000 for optional language, which I choose additional English. In optional languages , regional languages are free but only french, German and additional are charged 15000.And the rest of the amount is for management and tution fee.
Campus Life
Overall my social life changed after joining this college, as there are many people in the college it helped me to interact with everyone and come out of my comfort zone.There are many fests like Visages which is held in Feb and prathiba which is held in oct.Our library is one of the biggest library in Bangalore with all category of books available.There are also many clubs such as nss , aichuf and all sports clubs.
Admission
After finishing 12th broad exam I applied in three colleges which were, Christ University, st Joseph's University and st Joseph's College of commerce.I didn't get any email from Christ University but I got emails from st Joseph's University and college of commerce both regarding online interview.But I choose to attend st Joseph's University's interview as I thought this college is huge and diverse compared to the other one . I didn't have any written exam , I was just asked about 2 economics related questions in interview and I answered them correctly and I got selected.
Faculty
There are enough faculty to attend every class in the university.There are around more than 200 faculties in the University.The faculties are very friendly and we can approach them at free time in department.In my first semester My IFS teacher santhosh sir in my favourite teacher because he teaches us about moral values and advices us personally.I don't like my mentor Sri Lakshmi ma'am because she doesn't teach us properly.
