Course Curriculum Overview

5

course curriculum is very upto date and very flexible. there is dual degree schemes which is basically msc + be degree. BE degree is alloted on the basiis of your first (common year ) cutoff. Student can add on a msc degree if they want at the end of the first year and explore the field of natural sciences and research. Branch Trasfer option is also there. These things make bits' curriculum the most flexible one in the country. The relevency of the curriculum is also good.

Placement Experience

4.5

there are two practise school. First after 2nd year and other one in 4th year. which is basically an internship program that guarantees you an internship. Students and sit in placements in 4th year and they can also go for intership in 4th year as well and hope to get a pre placement offer. The highest package offered was ?1.33 CPA by DaVinci derivatives and the average package ranges between 20-22 lakhs. Placement rate is about 91%.

Fees and Financial Aid

Year wise fees is approximately 6 lakhs which includes tuition, hostel and other fees. Tuition fees is about 2.5 lakhs per semester. Other fees includes hostel, mess , electricity and miscellanous fees. Total sums upto 50,000 per semester. All my batchmates have same structure. Plus there is merit and merit cum need scholarships that can be availed on the basis of one's performance in the evaluatives. 25% of the students get the scholarship ranging from 10% to 100% of the tuition fees.

Campus Life

5

There are three fest. OASIS (cultural fest) It is the second largest fest in India. APOGEE (tech fest) and BOSM(sports fest). Bits boast and excellent variety and number of books. Book location are mapped and are very easy to find in library. Classroom have all the neccesery facilities. They are large number of student rum clubs, NGOs, Labs which make a huge imapct in personality builing of a student.

Hostel Facilities

5

hostel rooms are spacious and well maintained. they are white board, table, chair , almirah provided. There are common bathrooms which are well maintained and regularly cleaned. There are QTs where people can play badmintion, volleyball. do gym and play table tennis. Mess food is hygenic and tasty. There is a good variety of dishes.

Admission

I was getting ECE in DTU and NSUT but I didn't went for it and instead came to bits pilani. I was rejected from IIIT-H UGEE Interview. I cleared the cutoff of SUPR and REAP but failed to clear the Interview due to sheer BADLUCK. Admission process of bits pilani is quite simple. You are asked to fill a preference form which cost 1000 rs. Then first round of iteration comes. If you are selected then you have to pay 1st semester tuition fees and admission fees, you can hope for upgradation in further iterations. If you are waitlisted then you have to pay about 50K (approx) to sit in further iterations.

Faculty

4.5

faculty student ratio is about 15. faculty is very approchable and we can book doubt sessions. I am a fresher and do not have that much idea about the faculty . There are three types of evaluatives : Quizzes, midsems and compres. Quizzes are surprise tests taken in classes and have about 25 percent weightage. Midsems have 30% weightage and compre have 45% weightage. course curriculum is up to date and very relevant

Interview Experience

4

There is computer based entrance test named bitsat. Student get admitted on the basis of their score and wholly on merit basis. The syllabus is same as 11th and 12th standard. Diffuculty level is around jee mains and I prepared for the same.

Other Applied Colleges

Delhi Technological University - [DTU] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Electronics & Communication Engineering)

Bits is better than DTU in many things. It has a better placement record, peer group, intership and overall exposure. I am also certain to get a good BE degree next year.

Placement Experience:

For Master's students, they can start appearing for placement as soon as starting their 2nd Semester. There are lots of opportunities for students to grab a good placement. The average package for Master's can be 6-8LPA while the highest placement last year was 54LPA

Course Curriculum Overview:

- The course curriculum was specifically based on giving more knowledge and insights about the course I chose. I went onto specialization and chose microbiology and learnt that it has various other fields because of the curriculum. - The course and lab prepares well for the real-world applications. - There should have been more hands-on experience with some lab equipments and some teachers should have given more guidance to the students. - Frequency of exams and difficulty level was good. No complaints about that.

The campus placement commity is good, there is a dedicated department for campus placement for students depending upon the course you chose if you take Btech, Mtech or MCA its good but if you take M.Sc you have to struggle for placement and even if you get placement you hace to struggle with the package.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is updated and is on par with central universities. The curriculum is relevant if you want to make your career in research. More distinct and relevant additional electives could be incorporated into the curriculum as some aren't as relevant as they used to be.
