Dislikes
- One thing I disliked is that there is no system of allotments in the hostels people are living here even when they are not enrolled and it takes 3 years to get a proper allotment here
- Second thing is the infrastructure of the hostels I mean they haven't been repaired and built since ages
- Third thing is the mess, we get a small portion of food I don't know if I should call it a good or not
Course Curriculum Overview
The thing that influenced my decision to take economics was the application of the subject in real life problems and I've met my expectations here they teach us how it is applicable and where to apply it. One thing I want to improve in teaching is stop the overuse of ppts Frequency of exams is moderate we get a good time to prepare and the difficulty is also good
Internships Opportunities
As far as internships are concerned we get a decent set of companies and a variety of stipend in different departments as far as economic department is concerned the internships are lesser and the internships are mainly from the Govt. Of India
Fees and Financial Aid
I will be paying 11750 per semester that becomes 23500 per year it is the admission fee There is no tution fee My batchmates have the same fee. I have to pay mess fees that is 2000 a month which becomes 24000 a year
Campus Life
Annual festivals include Sir Syed day where we are taught how Mr sir Syed Ahmad Khan built this and we are taught about the rich culture of AMU and yes we have a whole range of books here in library and it contains manuscripts as well and in sports there is a big variety we get to participate in various tournaments like Rouf memorial etc etc and yes there are student run groups like I am in the Economic Club
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility is very poor first of all they allot you a hostel after 3 years of your admission till then you have to stay in any other room where someone you know is staying Meal quality is poor and the menu doesn't have veggies at all you will just find dal and potato and meat sometimes You can take a room on the rent in shamshad market and chungi
Admission
I wanted to go into the IIT but it needed a minimum of 75% in boards but unfortunately I got 71% so I couldn't apply for the examination. Then I chose the field of economics as it was very related to maths and i chose this university because of the heritage that it has.
Faculty
Faculty is good i mean teachers are interactive and helpful except some of them. I liked Dr. Dastgeer Alam sir because of his interactive style of teaching and his communications with students I didn't like Prof. Shahina Parveen because she teaches us using ppts Exams are related to what they teach in classes so they are good
