Course Curriculum Overview
One thing I would say which isn't to the mark is the curriculum of the course. The flow of basics to advanced is not well maintained. Rather subtopics are completed without interrelating them with the other parts of the course. The applications in real life are hard to figures out.The curriculum should start with very basics of each topics and then go for the advancement. The exams take place semester wise after every 6 months and the internals take place in between the two semester exams.
Internships Opportunities
The interships mostly offered are to CS students which contains stipend facility. For other departments the interships mainly are offered in the TY of the course and well promoted by the faculty but barely any of them are paid.
Fees and Financial Aid
The yearly fees are about 12500 for Non Maharashtra students as for me. For the state residents its around 11000 for General and decreases for reserved categories. The Maharashtra Government scholarships are promoted by college but for other students its on their own to find scholarship.
Campus Life
The campus life is one of the most beautiful takeaway from this college. You get to know people from all over India and even some friendly countries. The annual festival happens during the last month of the year. It consists of cultural and departmental celebration. The library is one of the must visit places with over 200000 books of various topics and a study hall for focused study. The antiqueness of the college is an issue when it comes to introducing new technology. College promotes all the sports in and even out of the campus. There are mainly 3 student run clubs, namely SOEC, SAATHI and ASTROCLUB. Being a member of AstroClub myself I would really invite astronomy enthusiast to showcase their talent at our club.
Admission
The most important point that made me chose this college is its legacy well maintained over all these years. The other colleges I had applied didn't match this in terms of architecture, faculty and administration. The process of admission starts around a week after the MH-CET, after filling the application form, you should wait for 3 merit lists. If you don't get selected in any of them then you can hope for a open round.
Faculty
The faculty distribution is quite balanced in all departments. Few exceptionally well professor and few ofcourse disappointing. But the departments have enough good faculty to complete the coursework, only a few motivate to go out of the box. The college follows the NEP 2.0 scheme currently, which comprises of 1 Major and 2 Minors for BSc.
