What Students Say
Likes
- the infrastructure is amazing, and one of my main lookouts was a good campus, and its safe to say LPU haven't disappointed.
- the teaching methods are amazing, and all the teachers make sure that each student has understood the concepts thouroughly.
- the study material provided in the libraries is top notch, and if one uses it well, will surely boost that person's grades.
Dislikes
- the classroom size is a little small, and it is expected to hold a large amount of students.
Course Curriculum Overview
I have always been fascinated with technology, computers and how they work, so getting into this course was a choice of my own, as it involved all the things that I liked. Moreover, the studying is basically just practical, so when we get placed, we dont have any issues, as we already have ample experience in the field. The university offers soft skills classes, which are meant to help the students be better speakers and less shy, which is a necessity in todays world, and another thing that LPU has gotten absolutely correct.
Placement Experience
Placements have their fluctuations at LPU, but most of the time, students get placed, with a good salary as well. The students start preparing for placements nearing the end of their 3rd year of college. Many, many companies visit the campus for placement offers, and generally, the better student gets the better packages, so hardwork and talent play a key role if you want a good and stable placement. The highest package is 6400000 INR per annum, which was a while back, and most students get placed. After the degree, I aspire to get a good package and work for a few years, before establishing my own company in the tech field.
Fees and Financial Aid
108,000 INR for hostel accommodation, $50 for health insurance, $1475 per semester, for 8 semesters for tuition fees, $475 for yearly mess hall facilities, $70 for laundry services for the whole year, 10,000 INR caution deposit
Campus Life
Many events are held on campus, eg. concerts, wrokshops, competitions. For example, an event that is currently ongoing is MATRIX, a car, bike and fashion show that spans over 3 days, with the last day holding a DJ party. The library is home to many books, and is 6 stories high, so basically all the books you need, you get them there. Technology in classrooms definitely needs an upgrade, as whiteboards are a bit old now. Sports is fabulous, but again, talent and hard work are required and you can make it big. There are many clubs and I am wishing to enrol myself into a few, to keep myself occupied and not lazy.
Hostel Facilities
The room is a standard AC 3 sharing room. It contains nothing special, 3 beds for the students, 3 cupboards, a washroom and bathroom, and a balcony. They provide study tables with chairs, and a charging socket nearby, so students can study with the charger in. The meals are very decent complared to what I have heard about other hostels. Again, the registration for the hostel was done fully by my agent, so I havent got much of an idea.
Admission
I applied to universities in Malaysia, namely: Asia Pacific University, Taylors University, and a college in Canada, Seneca Polytechnic. For Malaysia, it was a completely foreign country and I had no relatives there, so I had to cancel that plan. For Canada, there was a bank transaction issue, with the bank sending the fees in Canadian Dollars, instead of the requited US Dollars, and by the time the mistake was recognised, my payment date had passed. I had only applied to these 3 before confirming LPU, and I got admission into all 3, without any rejections. For LPU, I had contacted an agent, and he helped me through the process. There were no entrance level exams.
Faculty
faculty to student ratio is a decent 30 to 1, which is manageable, because the teachers know their limits and they have lots of experience, so handling so many students isnt an issue. Moreover, I have a good relationship with all the teachers, but i dont have any favourites, or any issues with any.
