Dislikes

- In some cases, local professors prefer local students and tend to slightly overmark them.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum at KIIT is curated in such a way that it meets international standards. Most of the materials and books provided by KIIT are written by international authors. This was one of the main reasons I chose KIIT because it also helps to be at par with international students when doing a master's abroad. BTech curriculum is updated every year to meet the trends in the IT sector. For example for the year 2024, data science was added to the curriculum. However, KIIT refuses to teach from books written by Indian authors which is detrimental to an extent because various Indian authors have written excellent engineering books. Exams in KIIT are held every 2 months. In each semester, mid-sems and end-sems are held 2 months apart.
Placement Experience
KIIT has an average placement of 7 lpa with 63 lpa as the highest placement. Students become eligible to sit for placements from the 7th semester when they have to complete their first project. Internships also start from 3rd year or 4th year (mostly 4th). Students who do not bag a placement on campus can obviously apply off campus where referrals work wonders. A lot of renowned companies like Amazon, Microsoft, TCS, and High Radius. Google has banned KIIT from their placement visit list. TCS makes the maximum number of offers, mostly of 10 lakhs pa. Almost 60-70% of students get placed, and the rest choose to do higher studies.

Campus Life
Campus life at KIIT is active to some extent. It depends on what kind of company you have. There are a lot of spots on campus and you can hang out with your friends in places like the Polytech campus and the MBA garden. If you're bored on campus, there are a lot of clubs at KIIT that will keep you engaged almost all the time. A lot of tech clubs are present in KIIT that techies can join and if you think no club fits your niche, you are always welcome to start your club. A lot of clubs are sponsored by companies like Microsoft (MLSA) and DRDO. Annually KIIT Fest is held which is the most happening time of the year in KIIT. All clubs become active and huge artists are invited to the event. For athletic kids, all sports clubs are available and you can also enroll yourself in a club even if you just want to start learning.
Admission
- To apply for BTech in CSE a separate exam called KIITEE has to be given which is held in three phases every year between March to June.
- For getting admission into CSE 80 percentile and above is required and for ECSE 70 percentile is required. Once the rank cards are produced, a link for seat booking is provided in our Gmail IDs. Via that link, a payment of 70,000/- can be made which will book our seats and that 70000/- can be used to provide us with laptops.
- Everyone gets their laptop and for the 2023 batch, Lenovo Thinkbook was given.
- All details of the admission procedure are provided on the kiit.ac. on the site. All payments are also made by this link.
- One drawback of the admission process is that KIIT is very irresponsible about intimations regarding admission dates and hostel upgrades or cut-offs.
Faculty
- Most of the faculty members in KIIT are IIT and IIM graduates. KIIT makes sure to employ well-qualified faculty.
- Most of the faculty members are sweet and well-spoken and create a positive and approachable environment.
- You can visit any faculty during their free time in their respective staff rooms and clear your doubts and queries. Most faculty know how to teach well.
