Course Curriculum Overview

4

I opted for B.A in economics Hons. Just because I have to pursue MBA also was thinking to make my career in finance/banking sector. The curriculum prepares you for your further aspect of life, like you can use your academic study material for your further preparation. The university conducts examination twice a year. So, if you have any backlog log or you missed any of the paper of your course, you can appear in the next one and clear that.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure varies from hons. to hons. But not a huge variation is there. If you have opted any of the hons. In arts it will be around 3000 per annum which will include all your academic fees including exam fee and all. I am giving here some rough idea of few other hons. Fee structure per year :- for bachelor of science it is about 6000 per year, for bachelor in english it is about 4500 per year, for b.com in financial and cost accounting it is about 2000 per annum. Whereas if you opt for some skill related course it can go up to 25000 to 30000 per annum. For scholarship and financial aid one must contact to the university office since the scholarship programmes keeps changing over time.

Campus Life

4

Since it is an open school therefore it does not throw any particular culture programs or any fests. That is one of the greatest missing of college life I will say. But if you are bibliophilic then you can avail it's library facility which is available in the university premises. It is quite good with plenty of books available for your academic support. Again I am saying that it being a open school, you gonna miss your daily college life but will say that there will be a great college-life balance. If you are preparing for any particular exam then this university is not less than a bless for you. It will provide you a plenty of time for your studies or your personal work.

Admission

Eligibility of the course is nothing much but you have to pass 12th with any of the stream. The university provides online admission only, so you have to apply online from its official website. Once you get done your application, you have to pay the fees which will be mention there in the website. The reservation benefits are not in all course but you can avail in some of them details of which are provided there on the website. The exams are conducted twice in a year, 1st in June and the 2nd one in December. So, if you have any backlog or you missed any of the paper you can appear in the next one and clear that.

Faculty

4.5

The faculties of the university are highly educated and professional. They will support you in your good cause and if you are facing any issue related to your course. When there is class organised by the faculty you can ask any doubt related to subject and they will help you over that. Personally, I was helped by my faculty there in any doubt either it was course related or anything related to college. They will also provide you a dedicated telegram or WhatsApp group.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is something that can have improvements. For example I am studying C++ in my computer minor class which is becoming less and less relavent as compared to a lamguage like python. Alot of job prospects require students to know a language like R so I feel things like that should be taught so that the course cam make a student more real world ready.

My course is on a difficult side . There are subjects like statistics and maths which are too practical and hard . But this opens my mind towards practical approaches. Moreover the demand for this course is much more then its related courses like bcom and bba.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course requires a lot of analytical and logical thinking. The scope is quite wide in my course without having any professional degree too like research, analytics, finance manager etc. This course gives opportunity to gain applied skills and as we are dealing with quantitaive aspects our statistics also gets better with time. Few improvements which i would like suggest are that their should more practical and real life knowledge, currently it is very theoritically heavy. Teaching online softwares must be compulsoury so that we remain updated with technology.

Placements of my college are pretty good. The placement cell of my college is pretty active and facilitataes the placement process. Companies like Deloitte, EY and PWC often come to our college for placements with the average package being Rs. 8,00,000. After getting this degree, i will pursure another degree in MBA or I might also take a part in the placement process and pursue an MBA later. Students in semester 6 and further can take part in the placement process but there are internship fairs and summer internship programmes for students who are not eligible for placements

I have a keen interest in pursuing in Economics field as a career and hence my degree perfectly aligns with my career goals The curriculum is not very effective when we talk aboht the real world exposure however it is very good for further academic pursuits The curriculum could be a bit more practical based where we get exposure to the real industry as well.
