Likes

Our department is student friendly, helpful and all classes are held.
Teachers provide study materials and uses different examples, photographs for better understanding
All practical classes are completed on time. Syllabus is also completed on time

Dislikes

Water supply is not provided some time like in toilet and practical rooms.
I think lack of smart classrooms are needed.

We rely our life on plants.That is the main reason to choose this subject as the plants mysterious and we can't communicate with them. Other than that the course Botany provides the idea of biotechnology also. That is a growing industry.

Class Size: 36Course Fees: INR 12000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Addmission fees on 1st sem : 6160 , 1st sem form fill up: 2490, 2nd sem addmission and exam fees :2845, 3rd sem admission and exam fees:3605,4th semester exam and admission:2890, 5th sem admission and exam fees: 3910, 6th semester admission and exam fees 3015 Everything is included. No tuition fees is extra charged. We get govt. Scholarships like SVMCM Kanyashree etc. no scholarships are provided from college.

Campus Life

Programms like freshers , annual function, prize distribution, cultural programmes are held. There is a library which have different books , reference books , journals etc . Annual sports is also held every year, both male and female students can participate.

Admission

Eligibility was 12th passed from any board with science stream having biology. Application process was easy and we found the form and other details at official website of our college. Exams are held at the end of each semester.

Faculty

Faculty members are experienced in their field. For our class we are 18 students and there are 6 teachers, and in pass course there are about 40 students. 2 of them are associate professor and others are SACT. 4 of them holds PhD degree and 2 of them has MSc bed degree.

SXC Kolkata is a gem of a college.

Placement Experience:

Computers are so vast that masters is mandatory and therefore I have certain plans for that. However big scale IT companies come here and students of Computer science Hons have had placements worth 6-10 lakhs easily. My plans are to appear for the job interviews but not taking any as I want to study more.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum was well-structured, and each semester, there were projects and presentations that also helped to test our knowledge. I got influenced as the curriculum provides us with financial economics, political economics, and Applied mathematics. The level of the exams was decent, related to the course. They could improve in teaching more practical knowledge and projects related to that, instead of only learning in a theoretical way.

Placement Experience:

Placements and job oppurtinities are less since this is an undergraduate college offwering honours degree. Though there is a placement and career councelling cell that looks over this matter. Placements are offered only in a few subjects, such as industrial chemisrty and computer science. The rate of placements are very high and come with high packages. Though I am not interested in placements, but I have started taking preparations for compititive exams. Such preparations are very supported here, rather than jobs and placements.
