Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculum is good and we can get to know so many things about the latest technologies and all the labs and classrooms are good and well structured with the latest components so that we can exposure to get some good practical knowledge. But some labs have some old components which are not very useful in this era and in some course curriculums, there are some old subjects are there, which are not too useful But overall, the course curriculum is medium level and needs some improvements. Some courses need to improve and should be replaced Buy some latest AI and Robotics technologies and web technology. The university should introduce some new technologies and new courses, that are more industry-relevant and have more exposure to the real-world problem-solving approach. The frequency and timing of the examination are good and conducted on time. The difficulty level is moderate to difficult some papers are easy and some core papers are hard. So overall, it's moderate.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

In core branches companies provide opportunities are TATA Power, Odisha Power Transmission Limited, and some other power companies as well. In internship training and projects, the focus was very good and companies focused on more practical learning than theories The overall internship process is good but also needs more improvements to provide internships to the maximum number of students

Placement Experience

3

Students are eligible for campus requirements from their final year mainly from 7th the semester and also 6th semester students are eligible for some internship programs. IT companies like TCS, Cognizant, Infosys, L&T, Capagemeinai, and some other status companies and some sales and marketing companies as well For core companies like Tata Power, JSW, Voltas, Steag Energy and some other Energy and electronics companies and the average package is 4LPA. As the 2024 year has a less number of tech jobs and the market is not very good around 55-60% got placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

The course fee is high and as per the quality of education provided, I think the course fee should be less. The price hick policy is also high for course fees it os somehow ok but the hostel fee hike is too much as per the service provided. When I took admission the course fee was 155000 but now it's 210000 for the computer science branches and 195000 for core branches and allied branches. hostel fee was 77000 with food before but now it's around 92000 which is a high hike percentage and hostel facilities are not very good its average. The university provides some scholarship options if someone gets a good score on the University's own entrance test CEGET and also accepts any government scholarship scheme available Campus employment is average it mostly depends on the tech industry market. but the campus requirement policies should be improved. average package is 4LPA and Highest package went to 16LPA this year

Campus Life

4

Overall academic experience is moderate and the infrastructure is good and the services provided are good. The library facility is good and all the books provided are useful. The classroom facility and lab facility are good with new technologies. Tech fest annual cultural fest and annual sports and some other mini queues as well, like coldfest and many more, which are very good for students to entertain and participate in multiple events There are many social groups and clubs like photographic literacy, love, robotics, club, many other clubs that organize multiple events for students.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Hostel facilities are generally average and the hostel menu and male quality are not that good, but it's recommended to go for a local PG if available, or if you can communicate, it is recommended to go for a local PG. The hostel registration process is simple there are wardens and caretakers in a hostel for safety is quite safer than other options.

Admission

The admission procedure is easy, and the college gives admission through two examinations one is JEE mains and another is the university's own entrance test, which is CGET. The CGET application form and all the details are available on the university website cgu-odish.ac.in. There are no reservation benefits but some scholarship benefits for Goos scorers in CGET or JEE mains and also for EWS categories. The admission procedure is easy but the hostel admission procedure needs improvements.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty-to-student ratio is good and all faculty are well-qualified, especially in my Electrical department teachers always encourage students to build some good projects and they always help students with many good projects and also help students to participate in hackathons, events, and skill competitions as well. The approach to teaching is good in the case of many facilities and in the case of some facilities the approach is not that good and not that easy to understand but by interacting deeply about the topic the approach became easier to understand All the facilities are cooperative and always encourage students to interact with them regarding studies or research or career guidance or anything. They are always cooperating and always supportive and always trying to solve students' issue

Stduents get eligible from 5th semester for placements peaking at 6th semester of the college. Companies like Infosys, TCS, Tiger Analytics etc came but big pacakge placements offers are low . The highest package was 32 LPA and the average goes to 5-6LPA. The percentage goes to 90 % for placements. After getting degree you can go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

Placements at KIIT University for B.Tech CSE are decent and well structured, especially for students who prepare consistently. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester, although pre placement talks training sessions and internships start from the 5th or 6th semester. The university has a centralized placement cell that coordinates training aptitude tests mock interviews and company drives. Many reputed companies visit the campus every year including TCS Infosys Wipro Accenture Cognizant Capgemini Deloitte EY Mindtree LTI Bosch HP Amazon and a few product based startups. Mass recruiters make a large number of offers while product and service based companies offer selective roles. The average package for CSE students usually ranges between 4 to 5 LPA, while the highest package can go above 20 to 25 LPA in exceptional cases depending on the company and role such as software developer or data engineer. Around 75 to 85 percent of CSE students get placed through campus placements. Students who remain unplaced usually pursue higher studies startups off campus jobs or competitive exam preparation. Placement success largely depends on individual effort coding skills internships and communication ability. After completing my degree I plan to work in the software industry to gain practical experience and improve my technical skills. Alongside my job I also plan to upskill in advanced technologies and later consider higher studies or specialized roles depending on career growth.

Placement Experience:

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Placement Experience:

Placements at IIIT Bhubaneswar are generally good and improving, especially for students who stay consistent with coding, projects, and internships. In my college, students usually become eligible for campus placements from around the 7th semester (4th year), while many students start getting internship opportunities and pre-placement offers from the 5th–6th semester itself depending on skills. Every year, companies from the software and IT domain visit the campus for roles like Software Developer / SDE, QA, Analyst, Web Developer, and sometimes Data-related roles, and students also get offers through off-campus applications. Some of the common recruiters include companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Accenture, along with product/startup opportunities depending on the year, and multiple students receive more than one offer as well. The highest package and average package vary every year and depend a lot on branch, performance, and market conditions, but overall the college provides decent placement support and training sessions like aptitude, DSA guidance, and interview preparation. The placement percentage is also fairly good for students who actively participate in the placement process, while the rest generally go for higher studies or off-campus roles. After completing my degree, my plan is to either secure a good software developer role through campus/off-campus and build experience, or if I feel more interested academically, I may prepare for higher studies or competitive exams along with improving my skills.

Curriculum is like ok for an govt engineering college not like an iit/nit. There are many departments where equipments are very old & haven't changed for a long time. Exams are conducted very fast like mid sem is conducted in 1/1.5 months and end sem is in 2 months

Campus placement i thik it's in your 4 year of engineering only i.e in your 6 semester. There is a lot of companies visited like jsw ,hindulgo and a lot to go . Jsw provides avg package of INR 12 LPA And it selected only 2 students only. I think girls get placement easily as compared to boys ... companies usually select more female candidates....I think I will go for job rather than doing masters degree.
