Likes

Campus- The campus was quite decent and pleasant.
College Staff- The college staff was top notch. All the professors were helpful at times and empathetic towards students as well.

Dislikes

Placements- Although college provides good and decent placements but the process is too taxing. College does not ensure proper guidance for placements

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum gets updated every 2 years which is an advantage. The curriculum is mostly theoritical and not practical enough to understand real world applications. The course would deffinetely be better if students are taught how to use right applications or right tools in the industry

Internships Opportunities

College can help you with the refrences for internships and does not guarantee any stipend or salary. Although i did not get any stipend considering the amount of work i was burdened with. College is not that helpfull considering internships

Placement Experience

Placements are quite decent for the branches like CS and IT but they may differ for Mechanical field. On an average 5 out of 10 students gets placed in mechanical companies. If not placed during college tenure one may lookout for jobs through the means of jobs portal like linked in , naukri, indeed.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tution fee is very basic considering other Btech colleges. But the infrastructure and facilities provided by colleges does not justify the fee at times. The complete cost of education was 4.3L. The scolarships are provided to the students who are in non creamy layer and to the castes other than general quota ones.

Campus Life

3.5

Festivals are quite decent but the budget alloted for festivals is not up to the mark. Library is accessible to all but the range of books available are outdated. Facilities are getting better day by day mainly technical aspects of the classroom.

Admission

I cave JEE Mains to get selected in this specific course. Although cut off may vary for different courses. The process was not so lengthy. I did not face any issue such considering the time and validity of the course.

Faculty

The strength of the class varies from 50-65 students. Although it may seem a bit crowdy but it does not impact the effectiveness of the classroom. The proffessors are always approachable. They never say no to teaching. Although there is scope of improvement in handling such strength

placements start in 7th - 8th semester . Companies like wipro cisco and TCs etc visit. Average package is 4-5 LPA , and highest I could say 9 to 10 LPA .. my plans would be- if not got high paying job on campus I will try off campus too..

Placement Experience:

In my college students become eligible for campus placements from 7th semester and every year many companies come for hiring. Recently companies like TCS Accenture Cognizant Hitachi JSW Group Philips Axis Bank and some startups also visited so we get both IT and core chances. As per the latest data the highest package was around 24 LPA and the average stays around 6 to 6.5 LPA for most students and the lowest offers start from 3.5 LPA so it depends a lot on the role and company. Many students get placed but it mostly depends on skills performance and branch so it is not guaranteed for everyone. I feel the college gives decent chances but we also have to do our own preparation because competition is high. If I dont get placement from campus then I will try off campus also because there are many openings outside specially in IT. Overall placements are good for this level college and since companies keep coming for drives students who prepare properly usually get at least one offer.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus. Practical v/s theoretical balance: Labs, workshops and real world projects are a core part of the structure, especially in engineering, design, and science programs. CIA like case studies, presentations, and assignments encourage hands on learning. However, in some programs, there is a still heavier focus on the theory, so students must actively seek extra learning resources

My experience of iiit pune

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements once they enter 3rd year of college. Some notable companies that visit the campus is nomura, walmart, amazon, nvidia and they take 5-6 candidates each while nomura takes 15-16 per year. The highest on campus is 43 lakhs while off campus is around 1.4cr. average package is 14-15 lpa mostly for swe roles. Percentage student getting placed is 50% oncampus and if we add off campus the number goes to 80%. I plan to work in the industry for 2-3 years and then try to go for masters.

Admission: I had also applied for top colleges of Pune with tech related branches but the main reason I can't get their is due to high cutoff of colleges I had applied for top colleges like VIT Pune,PCCOE Pune ,PICT Pune ,D.Y.Patil Pune etc and through cap process depending on my percentile I get my current college AISSMS IOIT Pune and I confirmed for these I sorted the colleges depending on some parameter like last year cutoff, placement percentage, autonomous or not etc My college is in Maharashtra so around 80% of seats given to the students who are admitted through Maharashtra state entrance exam for engineering that is MHTCET and remaining 20% are seat are for candidates who admitted through JEE MAIN score so most students peffered MHTCET Exam for admission in our college The overall addmission process is like after declaration of result student make list of colleges and branches those he want to take that list is in a sequential manner then student had to upload that list on portal of MHTCET after 2-3 day result of that list comes and the college which is allocated seen to us then it depend on us that we want to confirm that college and branch or go for next round total 3 rounds are take place in that process and after confirmation of college reporting has been done offline to the college for final addmission process...Read More

Reviewing the journey up till now !!

I gave several exams and cracked them , but due to some or the other factor , I couldn't choose any other college. Due the ongoing CBSE boards, I couldn't register for MHTCET which is apparently a state exam for MAHARASHTRA . You can opt for different colleges in MAHARASHTRA after giving this exam.
