Course Curriculum Overview
this is an autonomous college, so, it designs its courses by itself, which are somewhat different for AKTU courses, and this college also finishes its academic years rather fast(in about 8–9 months), so, the schedule is very hectic, and students are always busy, since the mid-sem exams are scheduled every month. In the 1st year all the students are taught the same subjets only 1-2 subjets differ, but from 2nd year onwards specialized subjets to your respective branches are introduced which include many practical labs so, which makes it really helpful.
Internships Opportunities
Internships are compulsory for all the students, and they must do an internship at the end of each ademic year, the internship can be both online or offline and both paid or unpaid, and to get these internships, you can either apply on the many internship websites and some of which are also government websites, or the college also helps you find internships, but they are mostly unpaid. Students do start getting paid internship from 3rd year onwards by the companies that visit our campus, and the highest internship that was offered this year(2023) was of around 1.2lakhs per month for two months to two students.
Placement Experience
This college provide you with great placement opportunities, and prepares you for them from the beginning, and that is the MSP of this college, the companies start coming and organizing interviews from the final year, and many students even get placed in the beginning of their final year. Some of the famous companies that have visited this college are Amazon, BYJU, Walmart, Microsoft, HCL, Infosys, Capgemini, etc,. And these are also the top recruiters of this college. 300+ companies have visited this campus, and the highest package that was offered in 2023 was Rs.58 lakhs, NIET has also collaborated with many companies like Mercedes-Benz, Capgemini and IBM to provide industry oriented programmes. The average placement package for b.tech in this college is around 4.72 lakhs, and around 90% of the students do get placed in this college. I, myself, plan to get placed from the college itself after the successful completion of my b.tech degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
The course fee is hiked every year, and this year it can be increased by up to 11%. Your fee is much higher in the 1st year which is approximately Rs.1,60,000 and then 2nd year onwards you hace to pay Rs.1,17,450, please note that this is the fee I am paying and your's may differ depending on time of your admission. Scholarship are also available in this college based on your performance and 12th and JEE marks.
Campus Life
NIET has 2 campuses, both walking distance apart, one is called the new campus which is only for 1st year students to eliminate ragging, and the other one is called the old campus, which is for students from 2nd year and onwards, both the campuses are not so big in area, they just incorporate the academic buildings and a school size playground, a basketball court, and a stage for the very few school level events they organize, they don't do freshers from the past few years, they organize a yearly fest called "jagmag" which also feels like a school level event, so, yeah there won't be happening much here other than studies. They have some clubs, in which only the sports club is actually nice and fun, rest all are just for the name. Now, about the hostels, they have a boys hostel in the new campus for 1st year boys only, and the girls hostel is in the old campus, and the hostel is average but cheap from the other private hostels in that area, you should opt for the hostel in 1st year.
Admission
For taking admission in this college, there are two main ways, first, you can take direct admission in this college based on your 12th marks, you also get scholarship based on your marks, and the second way is by UP counselling(UPTAC), which is conducted every year by the UP government, and you get admission based on your JEE main marks. I got admission in this college through UPTAC, I tried to take admission on the basis of my 12th marks too, but seats were full by that time(September), I had scored 65 percentiles in the JEE main exam and based on that I was allotted a seat in the CSE-IOT branch in this college.
Faculty
Most of the teachers are good, they might not be very friendly in your 1st year of collge, but then afterwards they new faculty members are introduced who are both good teachers and friends. they arrive in class in time and are regular and serious with their classes and some teachers also understand different students and give them special guidence, specially the HOD's are really helpful and supportive and they always got your back.
