Ques. What makes B.Tech IoT at NIET different from regular B.Tech CSE?
Ans. The B.Tech CSE (Internet of Things) at NIET is a specialized programme that focuses specifically on IoT technologies, including sensors and instrumentation, wireless communication, chip design, IoT security, and smart systems. Unlike regular B.Tech CSE which covers a broad range of computer science topics, the IoT programme has dedicated industry tie-ups with ARM, PTC Thingworx, and IBM Watson, providing students with specialized certifications and hands-on training in IoT platforms. Ques. What is the total fee for B.Tech IoT at NIET, and are there any scholarships available?
Ans. The total fee for the 4-year B.Tech IoT programme at NIET is Rs. 6,46,200. The first year fee is Rs. 1,79,100 (including one-time charges), and from the 2nd year onwards, the annual fee is Rs. 1,55,700. UP domicile students can avail the UP Government Post-Matric Scholarship of Rs. 50,000-60,000/year (General/OBC) or up to Rs. 1,00,000/year (SC/ST). Students allotted under the fee waiver category through UPTAC counselling do not pay tuition fees (Rs. 1,03,100/year waived).
Ques. Is JEE Main mandatory for admission to B.Tech IoT at NIET?
Ans. JEE Main is required for admission through UPTAC counselling, which fills 85% of the seats. However, for the remaining 15% direct/management quota seats, JEE Main is not mandatory. Candidates can apply directly through NIET's admission portal at applynow.niet.co.in. The basic eligibility (10+2 with Physics and Mathematics, minimum 45% marks) remains the same for both routes.

For girls, the annual hostel fee ranges from Rs. 1,02,690 (Non-AC Four-Seater) to Rs. 1,59,570 (AC Three-Seater). The hostel provides 4 meals a day, Wi-Fi, and security. A security deposit of Rs. 5,000 is refundable at the time of leaving. Many students also opt for PGs near Knowledge Park-II, which are available at comparable or lower costs.
