The good remark is cloth donation camp during technical fest by NEEDS...that is an organization that helps poor children by donating clothes...bad remark is juniors molested by seniors...

I know that this college is one of the best colleges in West Bengal. And I want to be an Engineer...so this is the best place to complete my course...that's why I have chosen this college...Also that this college is not far from my town...so that is a good place...

Course Curriculum Overview

I have chosen this branch because I want to take admission in Mechanical engineering...but my rank was 24k...so it was too tough for ME branch...so I selected ME and PE both...as I know that ME and PE branches are equally same in syllabus... that's why I have chosen this branch...

Internships Opportunities

Yes...there is a quota named tfw...only for whose parents don't work in any government office...so our college doesn't take the semester fees...there are only 3-5 seats available in every department.

College Events

In our college we celebrate many events...our main celebration is our technical fest days...here on this day students perform their invention...their ideas...their knowledge... students become energetic those days...our college also celebrate sports day,many cultural programme etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

In our college per semester, fees are 40000(average)... including hostel fees you have to pay 52000(staying on hostel is not mandatory)...only low fees for the students...for general, SC, ST students fees are constant... And also one thing that you have to give the college amount of 12000 RS as a security money...

No...college would not offer any kind of loan or scholarship...if u done any invention then college may help you... otherwise not...

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facilities are medium...but mess food is very bad..you can't eat the food...or it can't be called as a food product...so many students prefer to take their breakfast, lunch, dinner in the hotel...many hotels are supplied good food at a low price than the hostel...so that's why students prefer hotel rather than mess junk food

In our college you meet here good seniors and bad seniors...you have to choose them... good seniors takes you to the good path...bad seniors spoil you...in exam time seniors gave an assignment to their juniors.. because the wouldn't complete it...

Exam Structure

Teachers are very strict...if they caught you when you cheating...they can cancel your exam...in exam room you have to seat with different branch...in exam room minimum 4-5 teachers will present in the room...no cheating...so you have to prepare for the exam... otherwise, you will fail...

Admission

I have taken admission here through WBJEE...there are two exams you have to crack for admission here...WBJEE and JEE Main...10% seats goes to the students who have crack JEE Main...So you can easily take admission via WBJEE...but it is difficult for JEE main students...

Placement Experience:

Personally i opted for electrical and electronics instead of the branch of my choice is because my scores were not enough to secure a seat in CSE. But EEE is pretty cool as well for those willing to grow in this branch. Our curriculum exposes us to the rapidly growing sectors in the industry and educates us of all we need to know about the course in depth. If you want to continue ahead in a research field, this Institute is the most supportive. The exam questions are also relevant enough and considering we only need to actually stress over end semesters, its fair enough per semester. It would be better if our professors removed the attendance criteria rest im fine with everything else

Not an Ideal college for campus Life

Ofcourse,I have applied for better colleges than the HIT , but I got this college which is also not bad , but it is situated in haldia which is a side area , which is undeveloped that much. For applying in any colleges you have to comes under the cutoffs , and accordingly that you get the college but you have money to pay then you can choose the college by your choices and take admission through direct admission cotta. HALDIA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY is one of the oldest and well-known colleges in west Bengal. The fees of HIT are comparatively very less than other private colleges. I got admission to the HALDIA institute of technology on the basis of the WBJEE rank. In the first round of counseling, i opted for another college but there was no hostel is available, so i decided to go ahead in the third round of counseling and at last, I got a chance to take admission at HIT on the Electrical engineering department.
