MSIT, the journey in an average rated college

There is a need for improvement in departmental labs as many instruments are out dated. College should look into engaging students in extra curricular activities along with studies.

I was admitted through wbjee, my rank was 73596. Entry through Jee mains is also possible. The college is on an average good and is under techno india which is helpful for placement. The admission process is done through counseling.

The course of electrical engineering is at par with the latest technology. In 1st year we were taught basic electrical and electronics to brush up our basics in the engineering field. Then we had circuit theory, machine, power system, field theory and electives like C and java, embedded systems, microprocessor and microcontrollers, electrical drives

Yes our college provides internship but only to meritorious students. Intel every year takes 10-12 students for internship and provides stipend of about 20,000.

Overall placement is not so good, its moderate or average according to current market scenario. Companies such as intel, Microsoft, tcs, cts, cgi are few primary recruiters. Every year more than 50+ companies comes for campus placement. Though very few gets selected. 40-50% gets placed every year

There are two technical fest in a year. A intra college fest, Tech-X-Tra only for college students and a inter college tech fest Paridhi with more than 50 events. The event website is www.msitparidhi.com. Freshers named footprints is organized for the freshmen and a cultural fest Advaya is organised every year.

The college fees are little expensive like all other private engineering colleges. Every year there's a fee hike for fresh batches. Total fees for 4 years for my batch accounts to 3.74 lakhs excluding exam fees. For the 1st sem it was 60,000, 2nd sem 56,000, 3rd and 4th 39,000, 5th and 6th 40000 and 7th and 8th 41,000

Scholarship are provided to needy student if required according to the rules set by the college for economically weak but meritorious students. Loan facilities are also provided to those requiring loans.

The campus is not so big. With no space for outdoor activities. There's a room with 2 carrom board and a table tennis table. Sports tournament are arranged every year in a nearby ground. Regular debates and other indoor activities are held in our college like innovation challenge, coding competition

Sorry there is no hostel facilities for the students. But the students can stay in a nearby hostel Sahara hostel were our college students mainly stays. The food there is okayish not so good like all other mess foods. Students may opt for PG in a nearby locality RR plot and rent in a flat or other accomModations.

There is a huge network of alumni who stays in touch with Juniors and are helpful in motivating the juniors. They are like mentors. From my experience, i take help of my seniors in clearing doubts and planning for my future on to what electives to choose or what career to choose aftr my B.tech

The main exam that is the semester exam is conducted by the university that is MAKAUT. College conducts two internal exams of 30 marks each which gets added to our semester marks. Labs exams are conducted before semester exams but regular viva are taken in labs to see daily performance of a student.

I gave WBJEE, from there i appeared for centralized counseling. There i gave my choice of MSIT. After 2 rounds of counselling i got msit. In 1st round i Got BBIT which isn't at par with MSIT so i choosed to upgrade in the next round and luckily i got electrical engineering which i wanted.

In our college there is a mix of brilliant and few above average faculties. There are few faculties like AC sir and RJ sir who are brilliant with there subjects. Few had done P.Hds nd few are doing. The faculties are very helpful in solving our doubts and helping in research and projects.
