National Institute of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases, formerly known as LRS TB Hospital, is a government institute established in 1952. The institute was formed by the TB Association of India and was converted into an autonomous institute by the Indian Government in 1991. NITRD is recognized by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Government of India.

NITRD offers admission to doctorate and post-doctoral programmes. Admission to the DNB course is based on the score obtained in NEET PG and NEET SS. The duration of the DNB course is 3 Years. Admission to Post-Doctoral Fellowship is based on a merit-based score and lasts six months.

Admission to the NITRD is purely based on the scores obtained from the entrance exams such as NEET-PG and NEET-SS. For admission to NITRD, students have to meet the eligibility criteria of completing the MBBS degree from a recognized institution. The students then apply for the entrance exams such as NEET-SS and NEET-PG, and the final selection is based on the merit score of the students from the medical entrance exams.
To apply for admission in the DNB and Post Doctoral Fellowship programme, a student needs to follow the following steps:

Ans. Students are provided accommodation facilities separately for both boys and girls inside the campus.

Ans. The prospectus and application form cost for the General & OBC Category is INR 1000, and for SC/ST Category is INR 500.
Ques. Is the application fee refundable at the NITRD?
Ans. No, the application fee is non-refundable, and the applicant has to take full responsibility for sending the application form in postal transit and other necessary documents.
Ques. What is the attendance percentage to be maintained by students in a post-doctoral fellowship at the NITRD?
Ans. Students should have a minimum of 90% presence in the lectures and labs. Students have to maintain a separate performance record book.

Ans. The college doesn’t provide a stipend for the post-doctoral fellowship. Instead, the parent department provides the necessary stipend to the fellowship students.

Ans. Students have to confirm their allocated seat within 15 days of the result, along with the necessary documents required for admission.
