Course Curriculum Overview

2

I would say mediocre. Some subjects that are industry and market-relevant are being taught. But again they are either online mode or the faculty is not qualified enough. Important subjects such as coding. Data structures and algorithms, computer architecture, and soft skills are included. These are crucial in the field of tech. But the teaching of these subjects lacks practicality as well as qualified teachers. And I don't know why but some of the most useless subjects are also being taught here. Not just me, but my whole class doubts whether that particular subject is even needed or not in terms of the road we have taken. Even the teachers in those subjects come in class with the mindset that let it be. Just complete the hour and move on with my life. No one bothers to even check what is right or wrong. Everyone has the mindset of letting it be

Placement Experience

2

There is no such facilities regarding summer internships. You have to find on your own. Students become eligible for campus placement after 5 sem. But due to the big name of my college, very renowned tech as well as non tech companies visit here. But due the global recession, the numbers have decreased over the past years. The placement has decreased and it is also observed students from tech field opting for sales job. Harsh times. But the marketing team as done a great job across the country, so yeah you have definitely seen hoardings of students from my college bagging packages worth crores. They might be true. But masses still suffer from mediocre placements. Very big tech giants have opted out from my college placement in past few years. I am no idea what i would be doing after my degree, u have no intrest in this field. Lets see

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees is structure is very huge. I don't know why they are taking so much given the facilities they provide. I think the major reason is that being a private university , they know students are not left with a variety of options. So eventually they have to abide by the rules. Although we have a scholarship bases test. If u get good marks you get Scholarship varying from 20 to 40 percent. But even after the scholarship, the amount is big. My college also provides financial aids to students in need. After some documentation work you can opt for loan also. I am not sure about the interest rate. Talking about campus employability there are not many options. You have to take care of it by yourself.

Campus Life

3

Many students come here due to the beautiful campus pictures. No doubt campus is beautiful ans huge. There is infrastructure and facility for everything. To name a few, sports, swimming, hospital, grounds, helipad, hospitals, food court, apartment, study block, rikshaw stand, dsw and what not. The club culture is also very good. Although personally i have a bad experience. I cam to this college late. Had no idea regarding these things. No one told us about it. And bam in 2 year. Unfortunately joined a club that as a biased selection process. But yeah u learn things as you go along. But people are learning and doing good in the fields they are interested in. From unheard clubs to popular clubs we have everything. You can also start your own club after filling out some documentation. Infrastructure is great.

Hostel Facilities

1

It's a basic room with a bed, light, and a study table. We get a small balcony and an attached washroom. But yeah they are way expensive. Even a four-sitter costs around 90k. But everything is privatized. There is a rare chance you will meet a senior. And seniors move out of the college. So most of the students staying in the hostel are freshers. And the hostel is bombarded with a gigantic population. It's so hard to book a hostel. Forget about booking it with your friends. It's a miracle that you could get a sear for yourself. The facilities do not justify the cost. The lifts are almost not working every day. Don't get me started on the mess of food. It's the worst. We have complained about It numerous times. Yet no solution. It's unbearable sometimes. Students have to go to food stalls outside. And the fact that the cost of the hostel and mess is increasing every year even though the facilities are decreasing is ridiculous.

Admission

The most crazy part is. EVERYONE CAN GET IT. It doesn't matter how much score you have in your 10,12 or entrance examination. U just need to pay the fee, and congratulations you are a part of the college. Although they conduct an exam LPUNEST . Which they refer to as admission cum scholarship test. But if u r giving it, means you are already in our college, no need to worry. It costs around 1000-1500 rupees. If they want to control the flooding population, they should consider the admission process .

Faculty

2

Honestly. If u are lucky enough. You will get a good teacher otherwise u may have to suffer. The only reason is that the students are almost uncountable, but the teachers a few and qualified fewer. As the number of students are increasing exponentially, my college is unable to intake enough qualified teachers. Hence students suffer. Some have the required knowledge, but majority suffer from lack of knowledge. Although we have a option to change our teachers. But personally i have felt they just interchange one teacher from one section to another. But the students are ignorant as well. Even if the teacher is enthusiastic, the notorious ones ruin the class atmosphere. But the bottom line is my college should keep an eye on the selection process more seriously.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
