Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The biggest factor that was considered is that is doesn't follow the curriculum set by KSLU. The college sets it's own curriculum based on BCI guidelines. And the curriculum is very flexible. The recent changes with the GST and CRIMINAL LAWS were incorporated as soon the changes were made. One thing that could be changed is that rather than focusing heavily on theoretical aspects and lesser on practical aspects (which are limited to internships and workshops and few classes), the practical aspects can be integrated into the theory.

Internships Opportunities

5

Hyperface - 30000/m. ANSR GLOBAL - Work with the legal team (stipend not mentioned) JD LEGAL Desai Law Firm Abhinav and Amith Sanctum Law Indus Law Furthermore, our students have interned in JSA, SAGAR, KING STUBB AND CASIVA, under Advocate Generals, under High Courts, under various Senior Advocates etc. Being a student of University Law College really boosts your chances of internship application approval.

Placement Experience

4.5

The campus placement in the college is quite good. internship opportunities are communicated to the students via class groups from the first sem. Working opportunities are communicated via the Campus Placement cell. Lots of Law Firms send details of their placement opportunities such as IndusLaw, Sanctum Law etc

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

The fee structure is based on the seat you are availing. During the course year of 20-25, the merit seats(10) had a fee of 26500 and OBC reservation(1) had the same. The payment seats were 56000. The SC/ST reservation seats had a fee of rupees 500. The other state students(5) had a fee of 86500. There are other reservations such as defence, single girl child, specially abled, J&K, Rural education, University Employee etc

Campus Life

5

The overall campus life is a bittersweet experience with the focus on sweet. You tend to meet people from all walks of life and various culture. There is no hierarchy and the seniors are very friendly. The annual moot court competition is a very big event held during March-April of every year with applications by 80-90 law colleges including NLUs and Symbiosis and others. The law fest is typically conducted during the month of June which attracts crowds from non-law colleges. There are intra college events such as Freshers, Kannada Rajyotsava, Ethnic, Graduation and Sports. The college boasts 40000 books, 10000 journal back volumes, 49 current journals and 18000+ other reference materials. The college has 100+ research publications. The college has an audio visual room and each classroom is equipped with a mic and projector, the libraries have computer access and high speed wifi is provided across the campus. There are moot clubs, MUN club, Debate club etc

Admission

The course requires a minimum of 50% in your boards to apply. But owing to the heavy competition, one ought to have more than 92% to get a merit seat and more than 85% to get a payment seat. The application forms are available at the Bangalore University website and there was a minimal application fee for the same. The dates are usually right after the announcement of Karnataka Second PU examination results which vary every year. The students are called for interview wherein after verifying documents the seats are confirmed once the full fees are paid. The outside state students can have online counselling.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty to student ratio is quite good. 6 permanent faculty with one deputed. Rest guest faculty who are highly qualified and working professionals in their respective subjects. The lecturers are free to be approached at any given time of the working hours and even after that.

Placement Experience:

After degree I am planning to pursue higher studies. I am not sure yet but as of now I have 2 options in mind. Either do LLM or CS. RV University has a placement cell but since law is a newly introduced course there and students take 5 years to complete the course the percentage of students getting placed is not known.

Placement Experience:

The placement of the college stands at an average of 5-6 Lakhs per annum. With around 60% students getting successfully placed, the placement records are decent. The records can be better and the average package could be higher in corporate firms, but the quality of firms that arrive at the campus is worth it. Legal firms such as Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, Trilegal, King and Patridge are some of the noteworthy names. Many students also opt for Litigation, Judicial Examinations, and Higher Studies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is well drafted, with covering most of the important topics as is included in the curriculum of top universities. The exam schedule is, however, very hectic. In one semester, you have the end semester exams, mid semester exams and 2 CIAs (Continous Internal Assessments). The CIAs cover almost everything ranging from class tests and vivas to presentations and research paper writing. Apart from the main subjects, there are some extra mandatory subjects, which I feelnare of less importance. One of those is the Holistic Education which deals with very basic and natural concepts. There is also an exam for Holistic Education, without clearing which you won't be eligible to attempt the end semester exams.
