Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I was a BCA Student, and before that i pursued Commerce in my 11 and 12. Moreover, I always wanted to do Btech with CSE and work in the IT Sector, henceforth I opted for this background. I practice coding and development, I faced many challenges with my course. It happened often that I felt "Am I even pursuing the right course for myself??" .But then there comes my confidence and understanding towards the fact that I have to work hard and whatever I have, I just have to ace it. DBMS, Networking and other core subjects are the area of improvemnets There are two CAT exams and one FAT (Final Assessment Test) examinations. CAT exams are internal and would occur every 1.5months. Whereas FAT is the final semester exam which will occur at the end of the semester.

Internships Opportunities

0.5

The internship status is worst as of now. Only 5% people got placed and that also not in a very good or desirable roles. Companies like, NOKIA, NETAPP, ARISTA VAULT, AMAGI, UBS, PRAVYUHA, MORGAN STANLEY, PHONE PE, HYPERVERGE, DEVTOWN,MIPHI, etc came but most of them never turned up, Only 5-6 companies turned up and that also they preferred MTECH students more over the MCA students.

Placement Experience

0.5

1. For my course MCA, studnets become eligible form 2nd year onwards for internship and from july they become eligible for full time placements 2. total 26 companies came, but only 5-6 of them genuinely turned up for online assessments or interview. Rest of them either they preffered MTECH students or did not even turned up 3. Highest package offered was PhonePay with 34 Lakhs/yr, lowest was 4 lakh per/yr which was Pravyuha Private solutions limited. 4. 5% only as of now placed 5. To get placed in a good IT Company

Fees and Financial Aid

for my course MCA, It is 140000 as Tuition fee for 1st year where 3000 is rufundable caution deposit, and 137000 for next year (2nd year). 600000 approx including hostel fees and tuition fees. For internships and jobs, three types of companies come: Reguler ,dream and super dream. Till now I have not been employed.

Campus Life

4.5

Technical club are : Aerospac club, android club, autonomous unmanned vehicle club, autovit, bionary club, cad ckub, civitek, cloud computing club, code y-gen, data analytics club, entrepreneurship cell, dream merchants and so on Cultural club : Sahayatha, uddeshya, the white helmets, pop culture club, quiz club, resourcexp, placexp, sangam club, mahath mithila club, and etc The accessibility is great. you can find variety of books at library. the facilities of classroom is also huge. VIT is indeed a big campus itself hence having lots of buildings and departments. Labs classes occurs in AB1 or AB3 of Chennai campus . Sports activities is also awesome, All the equipments like basketball /tennisball/ etc can be taken for rent to play in exchange of ID Cards for a temporary basis. The field is big also having basket ball court and others..

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Hostel facility is not that good. I live in a three bedded Non-ac room which is too small to accomodate three people and specially the rooms with bunker beds. The food quality in mess is also not decent. The overall facility is 5/10 if it comes to rating.

Admission

Anyone pursuing bca or BBA after 12th is eligible In VIT portal vit.ac.in The internals occur every semester with a gap of 1.5 months, where as final exams are at the end of the semester. The entrance test should be more strict and hard in terms of difficulty level.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty-to-students ratio ,I would say 7:10 since some faculties are great and amazing they help so much and are ready for sorting out your hurdles so willingly that you would be glad to have them ,while some do not give so much attention to the students and teaching, guidance is also not up to marks. They would just come and go. The mentorship is good, again I would say not all but few of them are not that well in teaching but overall they are very sweet and kind..Interaction with teacher is very often , you can call any teacher in an optimal time(ofcourse). They would always be available for you and be kind to you.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I took MCA to get placed into IT companies . The subjects in the MCA is very interesting but the students who studied UG course and then the pg course also in the same college then it is totally waste because they are studying the same subject again. Very bad thing is that in this college they are providing the same subjects and same syllabus for UG and PG students there is nothing different. But i have studies ug in other clg so for me it is different so i managed and it is interesting

According to my information, other facilities point of view private institutions good compare to government institution.
