POV of an IITP student

I always had an interest in the world of technology in computers, so obviously when the opportunity to study CSE in an IIT popped up, I took it with both hands. Our courses are to the point and designed keeping in mind the relevant skills in today's tech world. The only drawback is that after all these years of revolution in education, we still got to study all the common subjects in our 1st year of B.Tech. There are two exams each semester with frequent quizzes in between.

tution fees lie in the range of rs.1 lac to 1.25 lacs pa. whereas the complete cost of my education is estimated at around 8-10 lacs, depending upon the fees increase. It is safe to assume that in the coming times, the fee is about to be increased upto 10%. Many scholarships are available, namely reliance, state government, MCA, etc. No portion of responsibility for me as of now.

Campus life is decent at most as many of the clubs have their regular sessions which keep students out of their hostel rooms. Our new library is majestic both in terms of building and the cavalry of books and articles. The whole academic area is technologically equipped at its best. there are about a dozen of fest in the college throughout the year, each wing of the student council has its major fest while there are numerous small-scale fest as well. There are many student clubs like NJack, syahi, etc. and the sports facilities are decent and well-maintained.

In order to pursue B.Tech in any IIT for that matter, one has to qualify for JEE advanced. For a general student, a rank above 3500 should suffice. even better for reservation candidates. Jossa handles the counseling and admission process along with the college. The exams are fairly easy when compared to the exams of those of top IITs. It would be great if the whole admission process could be shifted online.

As mentioned earlier, IIT Patna has a set of world-class faculties. Each one is better than the previous one. Almost all faculties have an ongoing heavily funded project under them. Most of the faculty have done the Phds from foreign universities. We have interactive classes in which we have the freedom to approach the teachers with any subject or research matter.
