Dislikes
- The infrastructure of the college is not that good. And every formal work is done typically in a government way.
- The teachers are friendly but don't expect very good marks in B.Sc. until you study a lot. Satisfying the teachers with your answers is very tough.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum starts from basics in the 1st year and proceeds to advance in the 3rd year. The topics are taught in depth in the 3rd year. Reading recommended books will provide a better perspective of the course. Question papers were simple in first 2 years but the last year questions were logistics and conceptual. Exams are conducted in mid semesters and end semesters. There are 2 semesters per year. B.Sc here consists of 3 years and 6 semesters.
Internships Opportunities
In BSc. you won't be given any internship. You personally would have to go and contact or mail respective teachers for internship opportunities. You can either find internship in MMV or even in fmc by taking recommendations from any of your professors. Internships here are generally unpaid. It provides a good learning and laboratory exposure.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is minimal. In B.Sc. for regular seats it is 3167/year and for paid seat students it is approx 32,000/year. Apart for this per semester exam fee varies from 325/- to 1000/-. Caution money is refundable which is about 2000/- Then, for hostelers fee is about 2000/ semester. And per month mess charge is 3750/- Students with UP domicile can avail for UP scholarships.
Campus Life
The infrastructure could improve. The campus is huge and there are places to explore. Everything is easily available in and outside of BHU. It is present in the middle of Varanasi. There is hospital, library, cyber library, temple, and food stalls available in campus. Different clubs are available for personal growth - dance club, photography club, music club, debate club, etc. Inter hostel sports competitions are held every year to focus on fitness and extra-curricular activities. You need to dive in the opportunities and participate in one of the club.
Hostel Facilities
In MMV all the hostels are present inside the MMV campus. In 1st year bsc swasti kunj is given with accomodation of 3 students in one room. In 2nd year, kriti kunj with 4 students in one room and kundan Devi with 2 students in one room and in 3rd year, Jyoti kunj with 2 students in one room. Hostel allotment is done on the collective basis of entrance test and distance from the hometown. For non hostelers, rented rooms, pg and hostels are available in Lanka, Naria, Chittupur, and near Hyderabad gate.
Admission
I gave BHU entrance test. In those times everything was available on the site of BHU. Now the exam is conducted by NTA through CUET exam. Caste reservation and students of BHU employees quota is prevailed.
Faculty
Specifically in zoology there are 9 faculty teachers. And all of them are highly qualified. Teachers are available for you. If you need any guidance for future or reference for any internship, they will always be available. Some teachers may not teach that good but the study material they provide is very valuable for basics and even for clearing entrances.
