Course Curriculum Overview

1.5

Curriculum at the moment is same as Mumbai University since it isn't an autonomous college. Curriculum of bcom isn't that high level but the degree itself is just a stepping stone for Some professional courses like cs ca, mba etc.

Internships Opportunities

1.5

Again this being a bcom course not many internship opportunities are available, although once RBI internships were available and once law related internships. Tough to expect an internship from a course which is usually a backup for CA, Cs cma, etc.

Placement Experience

2

TYbcom that is the third year of the course is when placement start happening. Opportunities aren't that great but are according to the degree u hold which in this case is bcom. Bcom isn't a lucrative degree and hence lack of opportunities is something which is common, don't blame the college here but the degree

Fees and Financial Aid

It is an aided college. Fees like very nominal around 5000-6000 depending on elective subjects. Overral infrastructure and college is way better as compared to its fees. Easy to pay and admission process.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus is nice. Not too big . But more than enough. Good canteen. Good library. Big classroom, although a bit old but more than satisfactory given the nominal fees they take. Has a separate Gymkhana too.

Admission

Bcom is done after HSC. Your HSC marks are counted while admission. Admission process is online and easy to done. Very convenient. They have their own website. Once payment is verified, you have to submit the documents at college office. Once done, admission is complete. Can be a hassle for out of station students

Faculty

3.5

Faculty to student ratio is 1:120. Doesn't impact much Few faculties aren't fluent in English. Interaction is high with professors. Altho not being fluent at English, they do possess necessary subjects knowledge and are very helpful and approachable

Placement Experience:

At TCSC placements are quite good as anyone. Even the SOBO colleges and Mithibai don't have placements as good as us. So this is why I always dreamt of studying here because since last 6-7 years, Thakur College placements have gone better and higher.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The B.com is not a very comprehensive and complex degree to complete for someone who wants to pursue his/her career in finance. It can be referred as an initial start or push start for one's finance journey over the years. Also the relevance of B.com in real world is gradually decreasing day by day.

Remarks:

The good thing is that the college was not strict and was never forcing us to study rather it was seeing to it that it gave us proper advice and help us reach more towards my career goal. The bad part would be there were may staff which was very dull and was not kind, and no importance was given to correct their behaviour although it was evident by all.
