Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I choosed EEE for B.tech in vit since I had deep interests from 11th grade in Electrical and electronics. The curriculum is flexible and starts from the basics of electric circuits. It delves both in core electricals and electronics such as in Semiconductor devices and microcontollers and microprocessors. For real-world applications there are lab tasks attached to many core courses which provides a clear understanding of the theories. Since EEE is a very core domain, some courses went too deep in theories and lacked simplicity where I stuggled for sometimes. I think our faculties should take notice of this discrepancy. There happens two midterm exams(CAT) of 50 marks and a final assesment test(FAT) with one month gap for each of them which provides enough time for preparations.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

You can get internship oppurtunities right from 2nd year itself as there are lot of startups within VIT that hires students for both paid and unpaid internships. One major noteable startup is Inside-FPV which has featured in 'Shark tank India' 2023 and is ever-growing. It provides stipend in the range of 5k to 25k per month. Other noteable companies come in 3rd year for summer internships although the selection rate is very low and the CGPA criteria is high.An industrial internship course is compulsory for every students to complete in summer vacation.

Placement Experience

4

The 7th semester is where placements begin and students with no backs or arrears are eleigible. The biggest pro of VIT is the number of companies that come here. Many big companies like Google, apple, Zomato, paypal, Accenture, Delloite, Bajaj finserve, Ola, Cisco,Flipkart, Kpit, Hitachi energy, EY, Bosch, Royal enfield, Tata motors and many more gave many offers. The highest offer in 2023 was of 88 Lakh INR per annum by MotorQ to two students. The median package in 2023-2024 was 9 LPA with over 8000 offers.Around 90% of the applied students do get placed at the end of 8th semester. My plans after degree is to seek more experience and growth in my current job as an automotive engineer.

Fees and Financial Aid

SInce I was in category 3, my tuition fee was 340000 Rs per academic year which sums up to 1360000 Rs for whole Btech. For scholarships if you secure rank under 1000 AIR in VITEEE, vit will provide you scholarships and fee waivers for your academics. Based on your room preferences, the hostel charges vary. I opted for 6 bed AC and non veg mess which cost me 120000 per year. So considering other miscellaneous expenses, the total cost was around 19 LAKH INR. VIT incubation cell provides internship oppurtunities and stipend to talented students.

Campus Life

4.5

Vit organises two major top-class fests every academic year. A technical fest called Gravitas held around september and a huge cultural fest called Riviera held around February which is the beggest college fest in Southern India. VIT has a great modern library called EV Periyar central library which is 3-storeyed and has the biggest book in the world. The book locations are digitally accessable and the book due period is of two weeks.Every classrooms have a projector and a white board for presentations. The indoor sports club is situated in mens hostel with an AC gymnasium. There are other outdoor stadium and grounds too. There are countless number of clubs and chapters in VIT which encourages students to express and discover themselves.

Hostel Facilities

4

There are options available for 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 8 bedded AC and non- AC rooms in hostels with prices decreasing with increase in bed count. Room are decent and spacious. The mess has veg, non-veg and special menu options and the food is okayish with South Indian flavours however there is a paid mess in some blocks which provides better taste and a wider variety of dishes and in every blocks there is a night mess after 10: 30 PM which provides snacks and tea and fast food. The hostel and mess booking is at the official website and rooms get filled up on first come and first serve basis. The prices are a bit expensive in my opinion. PG services are also available outisde the campus in Katpadi locality.

Admission

In 12th a minimum of 60 % is required for admission. VITEEE official website releases the registration for the entrance examination in october or november and the exam is held in march or april and later the counselling proceeds. Each specialization have their own cut-offs like CSE core have a cut off for 3000 AIR for category 1 which will charge less. this goes for other streams as well. the VITEEE exam is not that difficult but of mild-level.If you have good basics you will excel. The areas of improvement would be the ranking process as the credibility of the results is doubtful.

Faculty

3.5

I saw each faculty have 30 students kind of a ratio which is decent enough and VIT provides a Fully flexible credit system which allows students choose their faculties at their own for their courses for a particular slot which can be morning or afternoon or evening. All the faculties come from a well versed background and many of them have Phds and masters degrees from well reputed colleges. They always encouraged a paractical approach to solve real-world problems and do research work. yes they are open for interactions and doubt solving talks for most part of the day.

Other Applied Colleges

SRM Institute of Science and Technology - [SRMIST] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum behind or campus is very much updated and it is changing as the technology changes. As the present world is engaging with computer and artificial intelligence,I want to improve more knowledge and also want to compete with others. The time table and the devlopment technology followed by our university is devoloped so that only placement are recorded with high percentage when compared to other. The improvement should be observed only regarding labs.We have write examination for every 30 or 40 days , because there are 3 internal test ,semester and lab exams.Actually time is not sufficient but we have to do hardwork.when compared to other universities or colleges our exams arebwry hard.
