Course Curriculum Overview

5

Cardiovascular technology, CVT, involves the diagnosis of the most important organ of anyone's body, the heart. In CVT u will learn how to diagnose all the conditions, related to heart, be it it slight or serious and also how to manage it. This course has 2 parts, invasive and non invasive and both will be taught in the 3 + 1 yr course for which i chose this course. CVT will make you a health professional who is ready to take ecg or echo for the most serious cases and your report will be a crucial part for the doctor to diagnose the patient accurately. Cath lab section will help you handle serious angioplasty things accurately with the doctor. This course in manipal is already in a very improved state and offers only the best is what i feel. There are 2 sessional exams of 30 marks & 1 ends sem exam of 50 or 70 marks depending on departmental or non departmental subjects but all subjects are not that difficult but requires a little bit of daily students to easily get cgpa over 7.5.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Internship is included in the course. You will be paid and graduation certificate will be given only when u complete internship. Duty times depends as this is a health related course of working in hospitals but it is managable and good overall.

Placement Experience

4.5

This is medical related course so placements will be given only after completing the course. After full 3 +1 yr, you can get full time job. Highest average package is 2.2 Lakhs per year for bsc completed graduates and almost 5 Lakhs for msc completed graduates. 95 percent placements are there in hospitals for this course. I plan to do msc and then start working in hospital

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fees is considered normal for this type of course, 2.82 Lakhs Considering all the high quality equipments this college provides which hardly 2 or 3 other college has. Per year including everything, tution, hostel, food and daily expense, is under 4lakhs Scholarships are provided. Check mahe websites for that because there are too many to name here. From 1st year onwards you are exposed to working in clinics actively and in internship that is offered , you will be paid a good amount as well. After bsc , you can opt for further study in msc or start working in the hospital and the pay is really good for bsc graduated students from the same affiliated college.

Campus Life

4.5

Mchp conducts pulse every year which is an annual fest. Held in October/ November There is also utsav which is intracollege event. Held in March/April Manipal library hosts the title of having the biggest collection of variety of books in india and Asia so its literally the best study hub area and free 24/7 ac Classroom are all ac and comfortable, has smart board and normal board. Manipal has marena, the sports complex that has availability of every sports possible including gym as well. There are various clubs in mchp like fashion, dance , singing, acting and even nature's club.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel are well ventilated, with comfortable bed and cupboard provided as well as a good study table and chair. On admission to hostel, free pillow, bucket , bed cover and few toiletries are provided along with an umbrella as a free gift. Hostel is nearby to class also Food is okay but my personal taste according, i prefer tiffin service. Upon admission to the course, registration for hostel notice will be provided . Considering all the benefits and food, it's affordable at 60000 to 1 lakh rupees

Admission

Bio science needs to be there. Check online websites for application forms, fees and dates Reservation benefit there . Entrance exam was okay , not very easy but even if you score atleast 80 above, you will get admission as they will call you in 3rd or 4th wait list but you will get it. Admission process is easy so nothing much is there for improvement.

Faculty

4

For 40 students, there is a faculty numer of 9 and then HOD. Every faculty has done their msc degree and are quite efficient in teaching the subjects which i would strongly agree. Every faculty is open for students to ask questions whenever they wish. Teachers are quite responsible also in taking care of the students well being in the campus as well as studies through the teacher guardian program. Teachers are quite understanding of our problems and there is no problem to approach them when in need and they will try to help you the best they can. The teacher student relationship is quite healthy, i will say.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Semester 4, my course included the concepts of Radioactivity which has been a fascinating topic for me, and wanting to learn that aspect pf chemistry was a reason that lead me to choose this course. the curriculum is not sufficient or up to date for current further academic pursuits. the course curriculum should include more scientific instruments commonly used in labs and the teachers could preferably be more positive with their attitude and create an atmosphere where learning is chased. where the teaching doesn't feel like they're just doing their job and finishing their hours by reading ppts off a laptop. the exams themselves are fair and well prepared. perfectly balanced to score based on how much you've learnt.

From final year the students can apply for the placements. At least 60% should be there to be eligible for the placement. Many companies provides placements in this college like infosys, Accenture, Mahindra and many more. The average package as per the company is 200000 per annum and the highest package is 700000 per annum. My plans after getting the degree is to go to abroad for my post graduate.

Placement Experience:

Usually there are placements in our college. If any student does not get a placement the faculty guide us what we can do next like the companies in which we can apply and how we can go further. In my course after finishing the bachelors degree you can further study masters it is available in our college itself or yoj can aplly for companies but if you do your masters you have a better opportunity and high posts for you better career. The course is of 8 semester you become eligible for campus placements in 7th semester. The last year that is seventh and eighth semester is basically practical and lot of projects provided. There various companies are seniors have applied and offered for example the genetic company in Bangalore that is Med gen. The highest package offered is 50000 and the average starts from 25000 placements in college. There is 75 percentage of students getting placements from our college. My plans after getting the degree is to go for further studies and do the masters after that i would like to do job along with my phd, this is my plan after getting my bachelors degree.

Most of the students after completing four years, continue to stay here to get Masters degree after one more year and pursue PhD from world renowned institutions. Very few people (<7/100) per batch will sit for campus placements and most of them will be selected with a good annual package of 30000 at an average. Some students, mostly Physocs majors can give government exams like ICRB, GATE to join ISRO and BARC as scientists
