Course Curriculum Overview

5

The courses are designed in very student friendly manner. Most of the syllabus for the first years was pre known knowledge with only little bit of advanced topics. The curriculum is also based on what the current industry requires and provide enough training for soft skills as well. They also motivate us to pursue extra curricular courses to enhance our skill sets. The study material can be little bit better though. Exams are held twice each semester with one mid term and one end term and few small quizzes for internal assessments. They are quite easy at scoring if you pay attention to class and study a little bit at least.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

We get many internship opportunities. Some are official and some are third party. Most of the third party are industry oriented learning programs with no stipend. Official internships I don't have idea.

Placement Experience

3

I am only a first year student but based on what seniors have told we get companies such as tech Mahindra, Infosys, etc. which usually do mass hiring so the average package is 3-5 lpa usually with the highest being 13-15 lpa sometimes. The college could receive better placement opportunities if students were more serious about it as most of them don't care.

Fees and Financial Aid

I joined through KCET so other than the base fee I was asked for extra ?20K as lab and other charges. For management students scholarships are available. They also approve scholarships through SSP and NSP.

Campus Life

5

The campus is very awesome given for the fees I am paying. It hosts lots of small events almost every month. And huge event yearly (most recent: invincia 2024). There are over 40 clubs students can join but only one is allowed. NCC can also be continued in this college. Lots of inter and Intra college sports tournaments as well. Overall a very active college with lots of facilities for students.

Admission

You need to have PCM combination to apply for this course. I had written Karnataka common entrance test (KCET)(registration fee 500). KCET is syllabus is based on 11th and 12th syllabus and has a difficulty level of easy to moderate. Based on board marks and KCET marks I was allotted my rank. Cutoff lists are prepared for each college and 3 rounds of counselling are conducted. As a general merit student it was hard to get a seat as most get filled by students having categories which is unfair as most of them don't even deserve it.

Faculty

4.5

The university has more than enough faculty to comfortably take up classes without conflicts such as having to take multiple batches at once. We are free to contact the faculties any time and discuss any academics or non academics related issues. Faculties are hired based on their skill levels and undergo multiple interviews before approval. They are well trained and great in communication. Most of them engage the classes in a very interactive and interesting. We also have regular feedback meetings with departments heads regarding any complaints or opinions on the faculty taking our classes.

Placement Experience:

Placements at RNS Institute of Technology are good. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th or 7th semester. Many companies visit the college, including IT and core companies. Some of the common recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and a few core companies for EEE. The average package is around 3 to 5 LPA, and higher packages are also offered for top-performing students. The highest package can go much higher depending on the company. Around 70–80% of students get placed, mainly in IT roles. For EEE students, core placements are limited, but there are good opportunities in software roles. The college also provides training and support for placements. After completing my degree, I plan to get placed in a good company and build my career.

Companies like HP, Infosys, Wipro come for recruiting and make offers from 3L per annum to 30 L per annum. Around 70 percent of the students get placed through campus placement. I plan on working for a dream company after completing my degree.

Placement Experience:

I applied to colleges like BMSIT and Sir MVIT, and I had confirmed seats there, too. I chose RNSIT because it has a better reputation for placements in my branch and the campus environment felt more welcoming. I didn't get into RVCE because my KCET rank wasn't high enough for their top branches, as the competition was very tough that year. The admission process is simple. They mainly take students through KCET and COMEDK. You need at least 45% in your 12th boards (PCM). Most students prefer KCET because the fees are lower. Once the seat is allotted through counseling, you just visit the campus, submit your documents, and pay the fees. The whole process was quite smooth and well-organized."

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very unique, and very new, we are not taught irrelevant subjects and topics like every university does, Polaris school of technology (PST) is a new gen college which mainly focuses on tech, producing the best engineers not amongst india but amongst the world, it's aim is to produce engineers who are better than IITians and MITians, all these specifications influenced me to choose this course/curriculum When it comes to real-world applications, Polaris school of technology(PST) gives us real-life problems and scenario based projects through evaluations which help us in the future and helps us to build a proper approach for problems and train us to be the best. We have two main exams per sem which would be conducted every 3 months that is ½th of the sem, we have a total of 8 sems, so total 16 exams, our exams would be difficult for other college students, but not for us as we have the best mentors.
