Course Curriculum Overview :
As I had chosen political science with other subjects, the curriculum was very practical and updated every year ( as we got to know later on). The curriculum regarding my subject was to the point and the extra curricular activities and field visits surely prepare for real world applications and decision making. I can't think of any special or particular improvement in the course curriculum and teaching methods were good as during my time it was lockdown most of the time due to COVID but the teachers didn't rush the subject and did their part well. The are 2 semesters in a year and each semester has 2 unit test type exams of objective type with a semester end exam.
Internships Opportunities :
Well our college had provided us with online internships on internahaala during COVID and there you could learn a skill and thenapply for internship or directly apply for internship opportunities like I had.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
During my time for B.A course of 3 years , there was no fee hike. It was mostly 6000 including all charges on the fee slip . No hidden charges were there. Mine was a basic course so there was not much scholarship but it was available for SC and ST castes. During my time, students could work in the office doing basic documentation filling for 50 to 60 rupees hourly work under the earn and learn program by college.
Campus Life :
There was an annual fest "REFLECTIONS" around December followed by other departmental or technical fests like politikos organized by our department. There is a relatively wide range of books on various subjects in our library and a comfortable reading space. One can also request newspaper, magazines or books regarding government exams. I was not much involved in sports but there's enough inter College competitions.
Admission :
The course is very basic so the eligibility is just passing 12th with appropriate marks. Along with online, offline admissions are also available in certain courses as it was available in my course. One can find the application form, fees and application dates on the website or by visiting the college in person. The exam's difficulty level was above average in my opinion. For me the admission process was relatively smooth.
Faculty :
There is 1 teacher for around 40 to 50 students depending on the subject course. I think this ratio is fine and it allows us to freely interact with the teachers both in the class and after classes. Teachers use both textbooks, presentation and other digital media like documentaries and videos to explain topics. The teachers are very well qualified with some having over 25 to 30 years of teaching experience. They allow and encourage students to take initiative and participate in class discussions. They also have some special classes where they teach about developing software skills and communication skills like making presentations, extempore speeches and allowing reasearch opportunities like participation in inter College competition and NSS activities. They give plenty of opportunities for skill and personality development and provide guidance. The teaching and learning experience was very good. The crowd is relatively small compared to other colleges but I think that's an advantage.
